So we have discussed the whole need for public time periods in excess. But one thing I believe we have backwards is doing free weekends. We get boosted numbers on weekends already. Right now during the week we are lucky to get 5 people in the evenings, maybe 10 if we're super lucky.

I am suggesting we reverse the plan and when thee admin powers come in, we do public week days and whitelisted weekends. Do it every week even to start to drive up the numbers.

This will boost week day numbers, it will give people more time to experience what the server has to offer and decide if they want to out in a whitelist application for the weekends.

Make the server public during the week, whitelist on the weekends.

Can I get an amen please

Amen.

As long as there are people who can address issues in the server (eG/eGO), I think having open weeks would be a good idea. I've had a reevaluation of how I want to roleplay and with the numbers being the way they are, it makes it hard for me to want to get on and do anything. I also want to start streaming but it's hard to stream if the server is almost empty.

The real question is how long would we do this for because I'd imagine the goal is to ultimately remain whitelisted. I don't think it would be a terrible idea to go back not whitelisted but after the sweat and tears to get whitelisted in the first place, it makes it a very difficult decision. Having the open weeks would give us an opportunity to see how the server operates with random people joining and if it gets to be too much, then we just tighten it up and remain whitelisted.

The majority of GTA's presence in EGO was not whitelisted and to be honest, the majority of it wasn't all that bad. We had a couple of issues here and there but it was quickly cleaned up by having active admins.

The leadership team agreed on starting off on public weekends to mostly see how it works and to understand how many people would join, admins, hackers, etc. Later on, if it works the way we want it to, then we will look into public weeks.

Are you positive though?

OPEN THE GATES UNWHITELIST THIS SHIT

You realize that it takes more than just removing the whitelist script right? The development team has to work on an Admin Script and make sure it works properly. People have lives outside of EdgeGamers and it won't happen in 24 hours.

Yes if you dont have admin tools hackers will run rampant, it may seem like a stretch but coming from someone who has been in a lot of servers, yes it will happen. It just takes a little time to get new admin tools so that weekends can then be opened to the public. And even them you need active admins and players to be in the city so things happen. Complaining about no one being in the city but also not flying in is the pot calling the kettle black tbh

Okay, after you get those admin tools- OPEN THE DAMN SERVER ALL THE WAY.
not one reason to do open weekends and not open weeks. thats not going to grow the server.

Nah, this is nothing but facts. Someone might not experience something that will really make them want to apply within 2 days. Even if they do some people would rather go find a public server then apply for a whitelisted one. At this point and how many active players are on the FiveM server the really best option to make sure the server can last is to fully unwhitelist.
