Is seeding servers still a thing?

A long time ago, I used to be known as the AFK guy because I would spend hours in a server to keep it seeded. The point of it was that a lot of players automatically hide servers that have no one in the server. If 1 person was in the server at any given time, it would show up on players list and help populate the servers. My question is...Is that still a thing? Recently, it's what I've been doing with the TTT server, which really doesn't have any issues with populating, but it's something I like to do. What's the longest you've spent on one of our servers?
