Now we all know what you're thinking. "This game came out ages ago! Where is the overview?" Well, Media Team is here to give you one! This game review is on Among Us, a multiplayer game that came out November 18, 2018. It is a FREE mobile game that allows you to hone your detective skills, or go BALLISTIC and kill your opponents. You can also play Among Us on your computer through Steam or Epic Games for only $4.99.

GAMEPLAY

The hit game Among Us is a free, cross-platform, multiplayer game that has players on the edge of their seats. You play as either a simple crewmate, trying to complete your tasks and survive, or as the game's most iconic character, the imposter, whose goal is to eliminate the crewmates and get away with it.

During a game, people can call an emergency meeting for any reason, though it's usually to vote someone out or bring attention to something. On this screen, players can vote out and convince others to vote for who they think is the imposter. Whoever gets the most votes gets the boot. Each Among Us map contains some monitoring systems that can be accessed by anyone to help find the imposter. These systems include security cameras to see areas where you are not, and vital panels to check who is still alive.

Here is a list of all the roles you can get when you play Among Us.

Crewmate: The crewmate has a simple job: complete tasks on the map and not die.
Imposter: The imposter's role is to stop crewmates from completing their tasks by any means possible. The imposter can sabotage the map's critical functions, preventing crewmates from completing tasks. This can even be used to draw crewmates away from bodies. Imposters can also enter the ventilation system, which can transport them between areas much faster than just running.
Engineer: The engineer is a regular crewmate, but with a twist. The engineer is the only other character in the game that can enter the vents (but only for a limited time). As useful as this may seem, this can also be a costly mistake, as others can mistake you for the imposter, or you could get yourself taken out by the imposter!
Scientist: The scientist is a regular crewmate, other than their ability to open a portable vitals panel to check on their fellow crewmates. This portable tablet is useful to see who is still alive and can help you use your sleuth abilities to find out who the imposter is.
Ghost / Guardian Angel: These characters are only available once you are dead. Ghosts are simply the ghosts of dead players. There is not a ton to do once you die except complete your tasks that you might not have finished. The guardian angel is only a little bit different from a ghost. The guardian angel is granted to the first crewmate who was killed, and he has a unique ability to temporarily shield their alive counterparts.

Whether you are playing with a close-knit group of friends or people you just met at an EdgeGamers event, it’s bound to be a great time. Recently, I’ve tried Among Us with proximity chat, which adds another layer of humor to the game, as well as Among Us VR which, albeit a bit buggy, is a great alternative when the normal game gets a bit dull. Overall, Among Us is a great take on whodunnit games and with the ton of mods available I’d give it a 4.5/5 stars”

“Enter a chaotic, but simple world of two-legged space figures with floating hands bent on figuring out who's trying to kill them. Unfortunately, you spent most of your time before a game trying to get a group together only to find out someone(or more) is lying once the game begins. The game is deduction friendly, but not friendship-building. Like most games built on lies, this one hurts after a while. 3/5 Stars”

“Among us is a great game to enjoy with friends and family or whatnot. To just kill each other, lie, and betray each other is key, so if you like to betray your friends and be the imposter, you will love this game, but if you just enjoy chilling, telling what you are doing, sure, crewmate is also an option, but remember one thing: if you get Imposter try not to get voted out or be bad lol. As a crewmate get the imposter voted out… anyway, have fun and chill in the game it's free of charge on Steam. 4/5 stars”
