AWP Bhop players hate AWP Bhop. (in it's current state)

Let me explain; I was part of the AWP Bhop community for about a year before a major server was shut down. Since then the main server for AWP Bhop has devolved into something that barely resembles the original gamemode. There are more boosters than there are floor tiles on most of the maps because the server doesn't listen to the players. However I know that eGO always listens to their players and could save this niche little gamemode and even introduce it to new people. With the vast reach of eGO, admins and server managers who care about player's opinions, and feedback from avid AWP Bhop players, I think that the gamemode could be saved and be a nice addition to eGO's many servers ! Myself and many others who love this gamemode have stopped playing because the servers that run it have fallen apart and destroyed a great experience. I really hope that this gets taken into consideration. I have spoken to people who have played over 400 hours of AWP Bhop alone and they agree that if a good organization (eGO) makes a server for it that tons of players, old and new, will flock to the server.

AWP Bhop Pitch Video:

Two teams (T's vs CT's) of 1-12 all get AWPs, auto-Bhop, and no bullet spread. The teams Bhop around maps at high speeds and try to snipe each other while zooming around. Many AWP maps like awp_blocks and awp_minecraft_desert are included in the map pool, and other custom ones made just for AWP Bhop. A team wins after eliminating all enemy players.

I always enjoy AWP bhop servers as they're fast-paced and the people are usually fun to talk to while playing. I also respect the effort in selling the server with the video, and props to you. That said, I don't really understand what we could bring to an AWP bhop server that hasn't been or isn't currently available. I know people you spoke to say they'll play on ours if we introduce it, but those statements often don't carry much action behind them. Maybe CS ECs do a few events with the settings to see how people like it and go from there. If the CS team does choose to jump straight into hosting a server for it, I'd enjoy that as well.

+1 either way for giving it a shot

Off topic but if you were looking to help out eGO more and put your video skills to work, Media Team would love to have you. You can see more info about that in this post.

I would actually be very interested in that, thank you for bringing it to my attention!

AWP Bhop is an awesome gamemode. I only have the minor concern of server population.
An alternative proposal is to add an AWP Bhop gamemode to the existing AWP server.
Do you feel like a new server would be better than a gamemode?

It's hard to say. The main reason this matter came to my attention is because the player base has been dwindling due to poor care for AWP Bhop servers. (The server managers keep pushing the game to be more like combat surf) If eGO made an AWP Bhop server it would be a competitor to the main server for it
(Karma)
so I don't know if it would be better to make it a gamemode on the existing AWP server. It would come down to how the server is run, e.g. what plugins we use, updates, and of course server population.

To start off, fire video watched the whole thing. Second I played these servers before it's pretty fun, but realistically I don't see this becoming a server on its own. I could definitely see this as one of our CS:GO events or even like a special day for jailbreak. Would love to see this implemented somehow with eGO.

-1. We need to drop the AWP server for a 1v1 server which is actually allows us to add custom content that otherwise wouldn't be added. Custom models, custom skins, trails, hats, stuff like that. I don't see an AWP BHop server actually being successful, and fits too much of a niche rather than actually trying to go for something we all can enjoy.

Why is AWP BHop any different than AWP itself? Something that's already struggling.

I of course pose this as a player of the counterstrike servers, take my opinions as just another person who plays CS. I just don't see how we can justify doing a whole new server for this.

I have to agree that AWP Bhop i think wouldn't be that successful so it would be better to implement special rounds in the AWP server that are basically Bhop AWP and see if AWP community likes it or not (to keep it as special rounds or remove it if they don't like it).

btw what are you even saying? AWP is nowhere near struggling now, it has a solid base player built now, looking at the picture averaging more than 10 players almost all the day taking into account that cap is at 20 players this is basically 50% of full server, obviously there are hours where there is not a lot of players just like JB and TTT but calling that "struggling"????

I wouldn't call it a success, and it's still very niche being a vanilla AWP only server. While I'm glad that those who pushed for this to see the light of day got that chance, it's not enough, in my opinion. And I mean we are talking about a whole new server here, and I do not think we have the resources for that.

If this was added as an update to that server, maybe? In my two cents while its finally seeing more playercount its a hard sell that this is the direction we need to take that server into, when if we swapped it to 1v1 or something we could see double the playercount regularly, and is something we can actually modify to be unique compared to what the people who actually play the AWP server want.

Quality over quantity. I think EGO should focus on improving its existing servers (KZ and BHop namely) before making more of them. Servers aren't just a one and done thing. They require maintenance and resources; both of which we are short on.

I appreciate this feedback however I do have one comment. Only a few months ago (before one of the major AWP Bhop servers was shut down) The servers would average at least 13 players throughout the day. And even with the other server that I mentioned in my original post not listening to player suggestions it still averages 12-15 players throughout the day currently. Obviously the player base has died out slightly, but that is to blame mostly on the poor management of the game mode and lack of server options. I, and other AWP Bhop veterans, genuinely think that an eGO AWP Bhop server could see success. But we can’t speak for everyone obviously (−_−;)

Edit: When we can spare the resources***

AWP bhop is something i have enjoyed in the past But I think some of the other servers need improvement first before we add new ones but I think its a cool idea.

definitely something I can see happening in the future, but I agree that we should focus on current servers before expanding into new projects like this.

I wouldn't call it a success
it’s one of the most popular AWP servers in NA

Averaging ~14 players, if that's equatable to one of the most popular servers NA, then that's scary. I agree with MS on this one. Look I know I'm speaking kinda hard against this, dont get me wrong I want nothing but success for you guys. Just think with such a popular game there are better ways to spend our resources.

100% agree with this - AWP as a gamemode isn't that popular as a start, but maybe incorporating something new can change that? Other servers will definitely take priority though.

i agree with osai I would love to see awp bhop become a thing that ego servers provides I met many people thru awp bhop back in 2018-2020 from the times i would actively play the game.

Agent Smith here. While I understand your enthusiasm for AWP Bhop, it is important to consider the potential consequences of bringing this niche gamemode into the Matrix. We must prioritize the stability and security of our servers, and introducing a gamemode that has devolved into chaos could pose a threat to our system. However, I will forward your feedback to our administrators and they will make a decision accordingly. Thank you for your input.

If you played MG back in 2018-2019 then you know this was something popular to do but a server that is dedicated to this I highly doubt would be played frequently. This is something that people rarely feel like doing, if there was another game mode in the mix then it may last but otherwise I don't think this server would make it.

I agree with the sentiments already shared with focusing on our current server set.

But, for variety I do see there being merit to adding this as a map set to our current bhop server (few maps with large cooldowns)

That we get the best of both worlds!
