To clarify, this is something Nonya mentioned first!

The Jailbreak Battle-Pass

The Jailbreak Battle-Pass (JBBP ) would cost a user 2,500 - 5,000 credits every 3 months. The battlepass would consist of free things and premium things. . Working numbers out isn't crucial at the moment but we can assume the freepass would give the individual user credits every (x) amount of levels. Common among most Battlepasses. Another idea is a free-pass. The free-pass should be available for all players with an alive time of 1 hour. Players should be able to join and get started leveling up the pass as soon as they can. This can serve as a good deterrent for people who may want to Disconnect and encourages replayability.

To draw users in, the first tier of the pass would consist of a decent perk / item and the last level would contain something desirable. Here are some ideas to level up your individual pass. First, kill's, but I feel that incentivizes not queuing for Guard and focusing on rebelling. Which may or may not cause a shortage of guards. Another idea was LR's give XP, but that does not incentive rebelling. If we were to offer both I feel playing as CT would be pointless unless the user does not care about the Battlepass.

One user suggested time alive = XP. I'd also like to think of some unique or interesting way that is easily trackable by statistics to give XP. Another phenomenal idea was weekly missions. Easily rotate missions out every week. 4/5 Per Week. This can include but is not limited to, Killstreaks, Special Day Wins, LR's Won, Queue as Guard, etc. Another idea would be unlockable markers for Warden. Possibly a cat shaped one? Maybe a mouse shaped one? Please feel free to post additional ideas thanks!
Some rewards we were thinking of would be every 15/20 levels. The free reward would be something like a random skin unlock for !ws. Possibly something like a Grey / Blue skin. Since there'd only be 3 or 4 opportunities to distribute those I feel that is fair. I'm not sure how we currently track the use of !ws but I feel that it is binary with it either being enabled or disabled. The tier 100 would be something worth grinding for. Possibly an in-game nametag [JBBP S1] [Tier 100] Possibly a free unlock of any skin you like or a specific skin we choose. Another possibility would be limited time DS perks. Every 25/30 levels you can unlock 10 uses of !ghost or better !rtd odds for 12 hours of alive time. In addition to this, Dedicated Supporters would receive a x1.5 XP boost to the JBBP.

As long as its not obnoxious and doesnt actually effect gameplay in any sagnificant way im down for it.
I really like the vanilla feel of ego jb, every other jb server i played always has custom player models obnoxious sounds, pop ups and cash grabs everywhere.
Overall cool idea it could probably help with drawing in players.

[EDIT]

I also like the idea of weekly missions, would be really cool to hear "sorry man i gotta cheese you for that sweet xp, cmere".

On another note, a server i played course maps on had this website where you could spend credits earned thru alive play time and buy trails, hats, lasers... etc. Now dont misunderstand, I HATE CUSTOM MODELS ON JB, but it could be cool if we could buy custom warden markers.

I also have this idea for the longest time but have no idea if it could be implemented, an alternative to the !paint lasers for warden, A CHICKEN.
He follows the "path" warden creates with his rainbow line or any other color. It should probably be colored blue like the one warden can already spawn. Just imagine, " all ts follow the chicken"

Honestly I don't see any harm in adding a battle pass, as long as it doesn't make the server feel PW2, I'm all for it. Plus like Galactic Grass Galactic Grass said in a previous comment above mine, it could be a good way to advertise Dedicated Supporter , not to mention the possibility of increased server popularity, not that JB isn't really popular already. Also I would like to ask, would credits be an reward in this JBBP?

+1
Diving into the whole reward system a little bit here. I’d purpose that the pass would be entirely free with every 5 levels giving the user 100 - 300 credits. Additionally the DS pass would give out 100 credits per tier unlock, accumulating to 10,000 credits entirely. Of course these numbers would and could be tweaked, but the idea still stands.

I feel like as long as it doesn't feel too non-vanilla and doesn't cause any P2W-type stuff, I'm all for it. The weekly missions also seem like a good thing since they are something to work for each week and you could have some goals that include the ct side and maybe it would cause more people to be playing ct more often.

Agreed. Some CT Incentives could be creative too, like kills with a specific weapon, HP restored, and even time spent alive.

+1 I’m so glad that you didn’t mention guns or bomb as a reward. When people mention credit rewards or a credit shop they try to justify balancing the ability to buy glocks and such, but the battle pass that you are pitching seems genuinely interesting and balanced. :)
nothing in it would be pay 2 win. you’re not gonna get a free gun or bomb if this ever ends up being a thing
Basically what majesty said.

I believe this is a good idea and can promote activity within the community. Creating additional longevity rewards that showcase how long a user has been with the server (hats, markers, melee weapons, etc.) that you cannot get based on being a dedicated supporter. This would still provide individuals who cannot be a dedicated support the ability to showcase their own support within the community.

  1. Positive aspects I can think of on the spot regarding a battle pass-
    1. Increase of prisoners working together to reach a common goal
    2. Increase of guard attentiveness in securing prisoners
    3. Increase in server playtime
    4. Increase in community involvement in improving the battle pass and its rewards
  2. Issues I can think of on the spot regarding a battle pass-
    1. repeat of rewards - negating involvement in any certain battle pass - while this is unavoidable due to not overflowing the server(s) with pages upon pages of options
    2. limiting ability for individuals to gain guard mission completion
    3. depending on the reward - differentiating between prisoner/guard
    4. toxicity towards those who cheat/assist the completion of rewards

I have a right just as you do to just say no. There is not a constructive way to correct this in my opinion. So, no. Please do not add a battle pass scheme to this. I just want to play jailbreak and it doesn't need a gimmic like a battle pass to be successful. Please do not do this.

I'm not meaning to discourage your creativity and thanks for suggesting. But this one I have to disagree with however many times I can.
Just saying you have the right to say no sounds so clueless, if your only reason against a battle pass is because of your stigma against them based on other games then just say that. There is almost no objective reason to be against it because even if you decide to exclude yourself from the content it'll have no direct game play impact on you, and only have a positive impact on the people that decide to include it into their game play and enjoy it.

ALSO: Battlepass systems if done right encourage engagement. It doesn't mean the game becomes Fortnite and the only thing people go there for is the battle pass. It is just a form of progression with rewards. Obv no p2w is the way to go, but solid ideas! I really find the chat tag <tier 100> idea to be sweet!

+1. it would also be a good idea to lock guns behind the battlepass. say for instance u need like 20 levels for an ak and 30 for an awp or something like that
overall though this is a great idea and I could see a price of around 5$ monthly.

Having a battlepass like system for Jailbreak can spice things up and be a net positive for the server. The rewards, daily log-in incentive, and weekly missions all sound like great ways to give players another reason to log back into the servers.

Consistently pumping out quality content will be the biggest challenge of the battlepass system, however, if done right it can work.

The battlepass is something that would require more planning between the community, leadership, and tech team. If this comes to fruition it likely won't happen until CS2 is out. The daily log-in incentive and maybe even weekly missions is something I can see happening before hand.

Great suggestions not only from this post but from the community, keep em' coming!

If DS gets more xp and rewards give buffs (like better rtd that was suggested) thats kinda p2w imo

Otherwise battle pass could be fun thing to grind

+1 for the idea in general. I feel like the downside would be tech actually implementing it and it constantly being updated (every 3 months like you said) with unique stuff / different perks. I feel like if there is a pass for DS, then it should also be able to be bought in game with x amount of credits. I would love to see some kind of daily login incentive as well, that would make the server more active and give people a reason to come back everyday.

I like this idea - its a truly transformative one that I wish more community servers not just in FiveM/CS would take up. However we must not discount the man hours required to design, test, and implement content and features required to make this possible. Recently we have seen AAA studios even fail to meet this burden imposed on them by implementation of live service (Battle Pass, gamemodes, etc). Infinite failed by 343 allowing itself to fall victim to feature creep in design, causing teams to be overworked and features not making it to release - and starting off a downwards spiral for the game as the devs aim to catch up in a never-ending race.

I must remind everyone that we are (barely) meeting two out of three components of a live service already - we push out new maps, and we add new features and modes to LR, but we have seen stalls even in these to aspects especially during when we're all doing our respective busy academic/career related aspects outside of relaxing here. I can see this kicking off every summer for the 3 months when we're all mostly free, but anything longer? We could be seeing issues in the long term then.

There is also the matter of design itself, it is a tall order for LE to draw up features and content on even a yearly cycle depending on their schedule. I believe this proposal would require the addition of a entirely new "Content Team" in order to better delegate workload as a whole in this regard. LE should be leading and putting everyone on a path towards a unified vision for the server, not designing.

In the end I like the concept proposed here, but I cannot possibly vote on it until the "nitty griddy" is worked out

Jii covered it well above.
It’s a good idea, but definitely too much of a hassle to maintain. The development alone would be a nightmare I’m sure. These would require hours and hours of more work from people who don’t get paid as it is, and already have enough on their plate.

I don’t see the benefits of it outmatching our costs to do it AND upkeep it.

Thank you for your detailed insight and pointing out the hard work required to make something like this possible. Although currently the JBBP is just a dream maybe, just maybe we can breathe it into reality! I agree with what Jacko mentioned, in that, we should wait for CS2 to release before adding anything major. It's great to get feedback and additional ideas though for if and when we decide to implement something like this!

Stats like these are why a battlepass could be beneficial. In general people will want to play more meaning we get higher server population and hopefully a more active player base.
The reason I haven't played in the last two months happens to be because I am reduced to just my steam deck at the moment due to maintainance. I get you dont like it but guess what, I'm just as able to say no to this as you are to say yes, and some of y'all took it way to personally that I disagree with a battle pass mechanic.

I don't want to see the game I love be changed like that. I like jailbreak the way it is and I don't want to see us moving to models like this because I get enough battle pass bs from games like apex, COD, etc! I just want to be able to play the game as is in that sense.

(And frankly, I don't think it's too much to ask in this case to keep it simple!)

My opinion on the matter is that this is a load of work for us that will likely never be appreciated fully due to the looming CS2 release.

I'm not against it and I'd love to hear specific ideas from players but for now I think the whole concept will be on a pretty big technical hold, at least until we hear more communication from Valve about how the release will go.

I agree the whole battlepass system is a lot of work, however I still think simpler RPG elements will benefit the server greatly. Giving us XP+levels with some minor aesthetic rewards or even the credit shop will scratch that itch, Im sure

@GamingByTheMinute Yes, credits could potentially be a reward within the Jailbreak Battle-Pass (JBBP). The idea is to provide further incentives for players to engage in activities and remain active on the server. The rewards would need to strike a balance between enticing and fair, to ensure the server doesn't become pay-to-win and retains its appeal for all players. As long as the rewards are carefully considered, a Battle-Pass system could contribute to increased server popularity and enhance the overall playing experience.
