hello

Currently it takes 12 (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) other maps played to play a map that has been "recently played". I propose we reduce this number. There is 61 maps on jailbreak. Half of which are never played because they simply aren't good. The other quarter of them aren't played because they are unbalanced. Finally, the last few number of maps are decent. IMO, there is 8 "S Tier" maps. Each map is played for ~40 minutes. That means if these 8 maps were played in a row, it would take over 5 hours to finish playing this. Who is playing JB for 5 hours a day? The point I'm trying to make is that people don't want to play their hour or two of freetime on a shit map. The times where these 8 maps aren't being played, people are either spamming RTV or not playing JB at all. Our decline in server rank can easily show that. Go onto GameMe and check time played for maps, you'll see there's the 8 good maps, and everything else is nowhere near the time played on those maps. People want to play what they’re familiar with; Maps that they know they'll have a good time with it cause they may know where the secrets are, or the best place to sit as a Guard. If you disagree, I just ask you one thing. Go on the server vote for your favorite "underrated" map, if VIP or Quake is on that RTV list no one is choosing your map. It doesn't make it "overplayed" or "boring", it gets voted for because people enjoy it.

Let me know your thoughts.

Well of course I'd agree with you peoples people! As for now, I see this a temporarily change that won't really affect the server dynamic until the JB Battlepass arrives!

I agree. To be honest I never knew the exact amount of games it took to be able to play that map again but now that u say it that's kind of insane. I feel like if the majority vote of the players decide they want to play that map again after a couple others, then I think it should be allowed. I do however feel as if a maybe a small limit of like 2-3 other maps might be nice as well just to balance it out.

I'm tired of playing clouds so many times in one day, but it is better than most of the other maps

Yeah. The limit has been getting increased (although it went back a few at one point), but nothing is changing in regards to what maps are actually being played.

If the increases aren't serving their purpose of making people play less-played maps, just let people play what they want, even if it is overplayed.

+1

Very well put. Another idea I have depending on whether it's possible, but what if there were 2 different nomination lists that alternated between underplayed/popular maps every other map (for example, nomination votes on "underplayed" maps will only have popular options available, and on popular maps only the newer and less played maps are available to nominate), with reduced cooldowns on both lists. That way all the new maps can still be learned/tested/played without the need for waiting an extended period of time to have the more popular maps come off of cooldown. This way it's a forced 50/50 between something new and something familiar without seeing map replays that often (hopefully).

i could play a 24/7 clouds jb server ngl

I would like to see more input from the community to see where the general sentiment stands. I can be a bit biased when it comes to what's considered a "good" map. Back when the map nomination cooldown was at 9 it was a constant rinse & repeat of the same over played maps.

I feel like the map cooldown increase expanded the general players knowledge of other available good maps. That being said if the majority of the community feels that 12 is still too high we can further reduce it to like 11 or 10.

Jacko Jacko didn't we say we were going to do this
It was at 15 and reduced to 12 a couple weeks ago.

Our decline in server rank can easily show that.
I disagree with this correlation. We were the only surviving NA Jailbreak server for sometime and a lot of other factors played into the decline. With CS2 around the corner numbers are bouncing back up!
