Is anyone even considering COD:MW4?

Open BETA started today for Pre-Order.

I thought we were talking Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare by the thread title... then i got a hair sad.

Yep, I even looked it up beforehand, so I didn't send the wrong one. Truly, the game has hit and receded from its high-water mark. I'm getting it because of DMZ. I prefer the Zombie Operations, but will take it...

lost hope in infinity ward cod games ever since mwii (2022); in my opinion mw4 just looks like the last one but with a coat of paint and somehow worse movement and ttk. played the beta a bit and it genuinely feels like your feet are cinder blocks AND then you have people sitting in corners with shotguns all game because the game encourages that with the attachment downside system now. (YOU LOSE ADS SPEED WHEN USING 90% OF ATTACHMENTS) spawns and maps are also really bad and dont get me started on the matchmaking

only positives are the ui and maybe DMZ

frio I liked the slower movement; it felt more real than arcady. Ttk does suck, but wygd!? Again, I got it more for DMZ, but I'm not hating the Beta.

Totally enjoying CoD:MW4 Campaign Early access! Highly recommend!

The campaign was top tier. Made me open my jaw in shock at times.

I enjoyed DMZ. They seemed to have increased the amount of NPC enemies and made them much more aggressive and tactical, which is nice for people who want to play against NPCs but still get that somewhat "simulated" PvP feel (even though there is still potential PvP as other players are also in the session).

Multiplayer is weird. I want to say not much has changed but the "feel" of it has definitely changed. The removal of omni-movement is fantastic. However, the TTK seems to be longer in this game than previous titles (at least it feels like it). I like that they re-added ground war (I'm a Battlefield player) but some of the maps, yet again, are a snipers wet dream so all you see is scope glints everywhere.

All in all, I give these ratings:

Campaign: 9/10
DMZ: 7/10
Multiplayer: 6/10

• spawns are still terrible
• iw multiplayer designers throwing tantrums over valid criticism
• terrible sbmm (possibly even engagement-optimized matchmaking)
• probably worst maps since vanguard (also could be generated by ai, search the bo6 ai map layout controversy)
• ttk like mwiii but game nothing like mwiii also is bipolar #fire
• open matchmaking is gone
• field upgrades are useless
• perk slots incredibly unbalanced
• footsteps are really loud with no dead silence upgrade in the game and blood rush is the only way to make movement bareable
• camos r mid except for the dmz ones
• camo challenges are aids on mp

dmz and campaign only reasons to buy the game imo; not worth 70 though just wait for the game to get updated and put on sale for like 50
