Jailbreak For Dummies: How To Play JB
Welcome to Jailbreak. You've been convicted of a crime you definitely committed and your only legal path to freedom is murdering every correctional officer in the building. The justice system at work.
You play as either a Prisoner or a Guard. One Guard can type !w to become Warden, which requires a mic. The server's only real qualification for absolute power. The Warden runs the round with their voice, so shut up while they're talking. Yes, you. Especially you.
If you're a Prisoner:
You wake up in a cell. Stay in it. When cells open, you follow orders. You get three seconds to comply, which sounds harsh until you realize half the server needs six seconds just to find their W key. Ignore an order, wander into a restricted area, cuddle a gun a little too long, or help a rebel, and congratulations, you're a rebel now too. You’ve probably already been turned into red paint on the wall that was once behind you.
Damage a guard and you turn red, which means only the Warden can pardon you, and they won't, because you did this to yourself. Just don’t start games or grief in an attempt to kill your teammates. That’s how we lose friends, so make sure to read the rules even if you don’t plan on guarding. Your two remaining career paths: be a model inmate and win map games for a shot at the coveted Last Request, or pillage and murder your way out with your fellow captives. Both are respectable. Assuming you’ve survived until only two non-red Prisoners remain, that means it's LR time. Type !lr, pick a game, and duel a Guard 1v1. The winner gets the kill, round ends. Every round's different; big map pool, tons of secrets, infinite ways to die three seconds after the cells open.
If you're a Guard:
Grab guns from the armory and help the Warden. Your job is enforcing orders and deleting anyone who turns red or loses a game. Your job is NOT shooting prisoners who are behaving; that's freekilling, and sadly it's one of the fastest speedruns to a ban we offer. Stay visible, don't camp the armory like it is the home of your firstborn, instead protect the Warden. If the Warden dies it's a freeday, which is prison speak for "anarchy." Last Guard alive with enough CTs at round start? Everyone left is officially rebelling. Happy hunting.
If you're Warden:
You have the mic, and with it, godhood. Give clear orders. Run games to eliminate the weak. Keep it fair, keep it moving, and when two clean Prisoners are left, give them their LR. Don’t lie to admins about mistakes, because they have buttons. Good intentions and truthfulness often overcome any accident made as Warden.
