Post your Gaming/Workspace Environment

Oooooh! someone else who uses linux to run TF2!!! I thought there was only one of me; that or you're dual-booting and just showing your inner geek.
You are the only one running Steam games under Linux? Now that's just not true! ;)

Quest, what are you specifically using to run TF2? Are you dual-booting, using Fusion/Parallels, or did you get CodeWeavers stuff? Wine runs my stuff perfectly fast enough on Linux, but I also have 3 Macs in my house...

Here's my setup at home by the way. In the second picture, I moved the chair, added in the Macbooks, and of course, the Redhat water bottle! The pictures are a little old...I have since put Leopard on my Macs. :)

Rhymenoceros, are you running a Hackintosh there, or is your monitor actually hooked up to one of your Macs?

You know, I didn't think to show my notebooks. Then again, I didn't want to overload you all with pictures.

Total number of computers currently in my house: 7 desktops and 7 notebooks
Total number that actually work: 5 desktops and, well all 7 notebooks
Total actually turned on when I left this morning: 3 desktops and 3 notebooks.

You don't want to see my electric bill. I was about to bring home an old 7U server from work, but decided that I didn't want to pay the electric bill for it. My Dell Dimension box is working just fine as a server.

I'm using Codeweaver Crossover Games application to run Steam and games. So far, so good.

That's the desktop for my Mac Mini...yes it is actually the Mac desktop there. I have a KVM switch that runs between my PC and my Mac Mini. The Mac Mini functions as my print server, my http server, and my music server. All of the other machines connect to it to use the services. Also, my PC triple boots Windows XP, Fedora 9, and Ubuntu 8.04. ;)

since when has redhat have there own water?
I got it while at Redhat to hear their CTO speak about 3 years ago. Never opened it. It's not actually bottled by Redhat. It's bottled by a water company in the area, but apparently for a "nominal fee" they will custom create labels for you. The label has binary on it and says "Free, as in water." Obviously this is a pun on "Free, as in beer" when discussing FREE software versus open source software (which sometimes, people charge for).

That's what I figured. I have Bootcamp on my Macbook Pro so I have booted it up into Windows and played TF2 a few times while I was out of town. It's hard to play on the laptop keyboard though. Ctrl is my jump key and on the Macbook Pro, the keyboard has an extra function (Fn) key right there...so the Ctrl key is shifted over. Very difficult to get used to.

I'm just using Wine to run it on Linux. Performance wise, it's great. Unfortunately the Steam friends stuff doesn't work very well. I often can't read messages that I send (and also don't appear to be receiving messages). 20 minutes later all of a sudden it works and I can read everything from then on. Also, the shift+tab just flat out doesn't work...the GameOverlayGUI.exe or whatever it's called doesn't run under Wine and for some odd reason they have listed the bug as WONTFIX on their page. They claimed the fix is impossible...not sure why. Do these things work for you with Codeweavers?
