here is an image of the game can of old tho fun game

played this game for 2 years and i still suck. its fun but gets tiring.

This game, and its predecessor, the original RtCW were very popular about 7-8 years ago. Right as the original DoD was just becoming known as a decent modification for HL, Wolfenstein was in its heyday with many tournaments, clans, and servers. I started my online gaming days with that game.... good times.

its populated, the only thing is that theres 2 diff versions of the game. 2.55 and 2.60B, patches of the game. servers can only work in 1 of these patches. 2.60B is for mostly scrims while 2.55 is for casual gamers. 2.60B had alotta servers last time i checked (jan 2008), im not so sure now since i play 2.55

I was a trickjump pro in that game :D I played it for like 4 years and got like 1200 hours on xfire with it.

It's a really fun game, but ever since I got tf2 I would rather play it instead. You know what they say, once you go tf2 you never go back.

I used to be the K43 Covert Ops Master at ET. Once you learned how to no scope with the K43 it was GG for the enemy team.

I never played the expansion (nor did I finish the story mode on the original RtCW...come on, zombies that don't die? That's just mean!), but the multiplayer for RtCW was something I wasted a lot of my young years on much like Goretex. I really loved how it would tell you who killed you. My favorite name was "A Spork":

"You were killed by A Spork."

Ahhhh great times.

best thing about this game: the mods, theres on mod named No quarter, where if you landed on someone's head it would kill them and its called 'goomba', similar to the monsters you kill in mario bros.

Actually it came out in May of 2003. RTCW came out in 2001. I remember the beta version for RTCW (first year that I had broadband) that I played for ever. Haven't played in a year or two, but most of the servers were empty. Still pretty popular in Europe. Most the leagues have closed up except for clanbase. TWL still has some ladders for the game, but I think that punkbuster has not been update in a long while. RTCW 2 has been announced(said they were working on it 2005) and should be out by 2010, knowing ID, it will take them at least that long. It will have a team-based mutliplayer. Hopefully it will be good.

yeah i had some great time with that game use to play at a sever called <{BBA}> sever it was fun alway 50 or more people on it crazy sever still i think?

I used to play the crap out of that game a few years back, around 2003 and 2004 or something. Before that, I played War in Europe and Day of Defeat. Enemy Territory sort of occupied my time until Day of Defeat Source came out. War of Europe was a mod for Half Life that was made around 1998 or something. I am pretty sure that when it died, a number of the team members went on to form the DoD team.
