I was sitting in my room upstairs reading the eGO forums and my whole room started to shake!
It wasn't to bad though. Does anyone remember the San Francisco earth quake of 1995? Now that one was bad.

man that one was gnarly. i was playing mario 3 when it hit... knocked a lamp into my head.

when the northridge one hit i woke up just before it happened (birds and dogs were going nuts).... i was in oxnard, kinda far from the epicenter but close enough that it knocked stuff off of the walls. it feltgnarly from 4 stories up.

the craziest thing were all the oil rigs in the santa barbara channel... they had the vents open and were blasting geysers of flame. the power was out and they were the only light that morning.

The quake was pretty awesome. I was sitting down playing a game of tf2 while it happened lol. Lasted about 8 seconds. No damage where I am either

I was at Caltech finishing my seminar when it happened. Second floor of the old engineering building. The car we use to go to the Biology lab (off site) was blocked in by four or five news trucks who had raced over to the Geology Department building. It was an interesting start to a good day for me.

(By the way, when an earthquake in California happens don't use your cell phone because there is so much activity it jams the system and you lose the ability to call. Texting however is a function that is the most reliable after an emergency and it will not go down. I learned this today)

no joke, i was taking a dump. i had 2 options: stay on a finish my business or cut it short and run around screaming. i chose the former, it was fun.

I was finishing up lunch about 10 miles away from the epicenter of the quake. I was on the 2nd floor, and it started shaking alittle bit, then we hit the deck when the 1st wave hit. Our building was rolling a bit and it stopped.

One of my managers and I started go around and evacuating people in the building, I ran back to get my keys and wallet.

Waited about 30 minutes outside while our geologist team and civil engineers went to check out our building. Nothing damage, it was a small quake. (actually 1 of the geotechs was out for a jog and continued jogging so it wasn't a big deal)

We promptly went back to work. *ugh*

wow u guys got it easy i had to evacuate my family under the stairs one by one and my little sister who is just 5 months was laughing and right after that a car crashed in front of my house what a dayand then had to go to class and my teacher never showed up

My mom was at work when it happened, speaking to a co-worker at their desk. Then when it hit, she went under his desk and he had to sit in the chair cause there was no space under :P.

Also!! Her boyfriend, recently bought a 3K TV for his room. And instead of taking cover, she told me that he ran straight to his TV to make sure it didn't fall (Cause it was on the wall).

A bit of Lol's for you guys :].

I was in Fullerton, pretty close to Chino. It shook my building well but nothing fell and the building took it well. The Cali building code is made to address the earthquakes. It would take at least a 7 magnitude to do serious damage.

i would freak out in a situation liek that...such a hard choice
