5 Bands that you MUST recommend to others

1. The Mars Volta (freaky spanish rock/jazz/ambient stuff that swithces languages every minute and freaks out very often, totally awesome.
2. Coheed and Cambria (prog rock that has way over the top everything, with an awesome high pitched singer)
3. Lamb of God (metal, really metal.
4. Daft Punk (house dance that is amazing.)
5. Black Sabbath (hard rock/metal. very slow and awesome.

In no particular order.

Brazilian Girls - According to wiki "eclectic blend of electronic dance music with musical styles as diverse as tango, chanson, house and lounge." The singer speaks Italian, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese and English so that may or may not be a deciding factor on you listening to it.

Some good songs that are worth mentioning are Don't Stop, Good Time, and Losing Myself. All of those can be found on either Youtube or Last.fm.

Ghostland Observatory - This duo is "electro-dance rock soul" according to the Gothamist. I dont really know what else to say so I'll let this picture of them speak for me.

Some songs I recommend are Silver City, Vibrate, Stranger Lover and Victory Lap. Those can be found on last.fm.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - An indie rock band that I discovered less than a month ago. They released their self titled album earlier this year and I'll be playing it all summer long.

Their single, Young Adult Friction, wins so hard. Also give a listen to Stay Alive and A Teenager in Love. They all can be found on youtube or their myspace.

Portishead - Trip hop at its finest. Trip hop being downtempo electronic music basically. To be honest, I only own one of their three albums but their newest album, Third, was enough for me to get all giddy.

I recommend The Rip and Machine Gun. Both can be found on their myspace.

And last but definitely not least, Angelspit - They do electro-industrial and "the band's music combines unique and stylistic elements of horror, gothic, punk and electronic music as well as pop and metal and their work contains imagery revolving around medical experiments and grotesque societies." according to wikipedia.

Listen to Skinny Little B, Jugular, 100 Percent and Vena Cava on their myspace if you're interested.

welleerdball-grp1-1107.jpg

Welle:Erdball, music generated with the Commodore 64 about technology and all it's advances, Think of it as... Kraftwerk, only with a soul!
"Doch ziehn wir dann im Himmel ein, so wirds mit einem K?fer sein"
"It's like seeing heaven, that's how it is to be with a Beetle" - Welle:Erdball - VW K?fer

2) Angelspit.

Why? They rule.
Distorted, crazy, bloodthirsty pretenders to be medics just because the like to cut people (ZooG's words) The best that ever happened and came from fooling around with synthesizers and bleeps
"Paint my boss in tar and set him a light" - Angelspit - Grind

3) Number 3 was a difficult pick as those under here.... But....
Luna Sea

An old Visual Kei band in the old true style, pop rock and full of emotion, you do not have to understand the language to understand the songs, there is so much feeling in it, you can just imagine it.
"anata sae anata made wakalanaku nalu hodo
anata saeh anata made kokolo o nakushita"

"You, even you, have forgotten your heart so much that
You, Even you, I don't understand" - Luna Sea - Dejavu

4) Mortiis

If you like ambient dark/dread/sad music his earlier works are beautiful! The New Mortiis is a more danceable mix between Dark-Wave and Industrial, good stuff in other words, pity he doesn't have the Troll look anymore since Mortiis entered a new era (Era III)

"Why do you use the old juju? Why do you battle all them bones?
I'm telling you I'm not the one for you. But still you throw the stones." - Mortiis - You Put a Hex On Me

5) Covenant
covenant6.jpg

Future Pop at it's best, sad texts, happy texts, club tracks, Covenant has them all, their electronic beats and bleeps can keep you happy troughout the day, and night

"We make ritual noise, we weave the fabrican dreams
We build cities of sound, we feel the rythm of time" - Covenant - Ritual Noise

Ps. Sorry for the picture mania
