So it's about 2p.m. pst. And my brain had a semi realization/idea. Are you truly only good at one class? I mean i'm an avid TF2 player adn if you check my stats you'll see that I have over 100+ hours as demo and every other class isn't even over 50. Furthermore, if you check my achievments you'll see most of them are for demo as well. So the question is do you play a certain class for fun, or do you play because that's the only one you know.

I mean i've noticed several people only play certain classes i.e. djsatan and wife, pyro. Sixgunn, heavy (i think). And of course Thatguy, sniper. This whole question even goes back to my DOD:S days back when i would only play Axis Support. Something about the STG44 just let me play better. If i even picked up the BAR it was an instant fail. But back to TF2 i'll even break it up to O and D. Those who have played with me know i'm a creature of habit, which means i'm usually in the same server all the time except when in clan events. DBHeights has become my new home and i only play 2 classes the whoel time i'm there. On D it's the Demo, and on O it's Sniper, for the 1st stage, after that i'm back to Demo.

Don't get me wrong I used to only play heavy when i first started playing, in truth i disliked the Demo, but one day I gave it a try and that was the end of that. So to bring this home i'll ask the question again. Do you play a certain class for fun or is that the only one you sucede at. In truth i'm a little bit of both. I'm a preety good shot with stickies as Demo and i enjoy the class. But i've recently found pyro and it's a blast to ambush enemies but i die more often than i would as demo. So what do you guys think?

P.S. If you read all the way through this I salute you. Now that i've finished it I wonder if i really make a point with it. But this is a first hand look at what your brain will do when it's late your tired and you start listening to all your favorited Youtube music Vids.

I play as alot of diffrent classes but I usually like one better then the rest. even css is like that. I used the ak above all else but liked the m4, the p90, the pump. I didnt really get into tf but in dod i like the k98. But each map is diffrent and suites diffrent weapons. So in short, I like diffrent weapons and classes for different perposes. so we differ from eachother i guess.

Didn't like the pyro at first, but at some point something hit home and here I am. My game jumped as pyro and made me better as all classes, though when it comes down to it, I'm more likely to play pyro. However, I try to give all other classes a chance. I'm trying to learn Scout. I can occasionally do okay as a Soldier, especially if the team needs help with taking out sentries and the like at a distance. I rarely play heavy anymore. I go demo when we're on defense sometimes. Engineer bores me to tears, so I skip him. I occasionally snipe when I know that I'm a better sniper than the other team's, so I can counter-snipe and keep them off my team. I occasionally go spy when I have a feeling the other team has gotten lazy on spy checking or overall defense. And I go medic when my team really needs a good push with ubers. Lately though, I've been playing a little of every class and only start to go pyro when I might start to feel a little frustrated playing other classes and just need to torch half an enemy team.

In short, I play a little bit of everything so I can do it if the situation calls for it, but I have a main class.

I AM THE ROCKETMAN!
anyone who's played against me (or with me) on a "good" day (with me as soldier) has seen me do some crazy stuff as a soldier. and i have the most hours logged as soldier. So to answer your question: for me its both, I'm good at soldier, and i like playing it. HOWEVER: more recently i have been trying to class bounce, so i don't get burnt out (though with over 12 years playing soldier (and still liking it) i don't see that happening). but there are other classes that i play to have fun.

but in all reality, i only (usually) have fun playing the classes i'm good at (ie: i almost never play spy, cuz i sux0rz bad with spy: but even then occasionally i'll play it, and have a fun time, but rarely play it for more then 5-10 minutes straight) wow this started running long.

See this is where i can be interesting =D
I'm good at sniping so I like going sniper on 2fort or toyfort if its needed,
Im quite good with demo and use him the most on toyfort
In goldrush, if im attacking i usually go medic,
But if im ever heavily defending I will go engy and put a sentry up where needed, but i walk away and attack at the same time with shotty

BASICALLY,
Im good at sniper and demo but go engy and medic when needed.

Demoman all the way. I'm sure that I could learn to be other classes, but I've had no desire to do so. Fortunately, a good demoman is almost always needed on a team.

As an English/Language Arts teacher, I always laugh when people write three paragraphs and then say, "Sorry this is so long. Congratulations if you read the entire post."

;) Just giving you a hard time. :) Nothing personal, just an observation, heh.

I play engineer because I like playing a defensive class. but i have given demo a try recently and i enjoyed it. I will play heavy, sniper, and medic every now and then. the one class I hate is Soldier though.

This is pretty much me. =/ Demo is pretty cool but Soldier is just to slow paced for me IMHO.

i have 100+ hours on soldier :P but recently i've tried other classes, like heavy (which is pretty awesome) Actually, when i first started playing tf2 i played as heavy ALOT. my main classes are, demo (mostly) and soldier. Snipers alright too. The only class i don't really play is the pyro.. don't know why but i'm just not really fond of that class.

Well, I am a generalist.

You see, I used to only play sniper. Then, I used to only play engineer. Then only demo. Now, After a long time experimenting, I have found that I can be relatively effective with just about any class.

However, I am a demo at heart. When it's obvious the team needs something else, I tend to switch, UNLESS we need ubers. I very rarely switch then, because we probably need it to take out some sentries, and I don't know about you all, but I have found more and more demomen lately who try to take out sentries with pipe bombs. I hate that, because It just doesn't work nearly as effectively. While some struggle to get one sentry that way, I just sticky 2-3 of them and they are gone, nothing they can do.

So, in answer to your question, I default to demoman, but certainly I hop around with not too much by way of impediment.

I play every class exceptionally well (in my own opinion). Everyone on the new Instant Respawn 2fort server cringes whenever I play scout and sniper though....I'm about even with Tanooki in playing spy... I feel sorry for the next people the eGO scrim against! :D

I play sniper , soldier, medic because I like the classes.
I have never liked pyros, I only use the pyro because I love the air blast. If the pyros didnt have the air blast I would not be playing them.

I'm very very good at the classes I like.
I'm also a very good engineer even though I don't like to play the engineer.
I play an just above average demoman , but I like them even less than engineers.

I hate the spy, scout and heavy class. I rarely play them. I only play the at all because I like the sound of the baseball bat whacking people.

Pyro, Spy, Engineer, Scout, Soldier, Medic

in no particular order :P

Everything else is either meh or I just suck at it.

I play sniper, then engineer. I suck at pretty much all the other classes.

medic - can't stay alive before I get an ubercharge

heavy - almost a target that has a sign that says "shoot me i'm standing still"

demoman - getting pwned by all these pyros running around

pyro - crit rocket in the face anyone?

scout - sentries kill me in 2 seconds

spy - Are you serious? I always run out of cloak at the worst times (in the middle of the battlefield)

I play Soldier mainly... and i head hunt medics..... demo man i always go out of my way to kill first since they got spam launchers that just wreak havoc...

on tfc i played sniper mostly... but in tfc2 i like soldier the most.. second is medic.....I change to eng sometimes on db and goldrush when the team is ovbiously not setup right... gotta adapt for the betterment of your team sometimes..

But watch my rawketz

I think I can play ALL classes well. I do, however, think that medic is best for me (when my patient has a mic and knows what he is doing) but Demoman is my 2nd favorite.

I'm an equal opportunity phailist.

I phail at all classes :) I usually feel compelled to apologize to whichever team is unfortunate enough to have me on it
