Buying new computer parts and could use some help

My ram is OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail link

All this adds up to 300 bucks with all the rebates!

What do you all think about this set up? Will it be a good set up? Is it a good deal for the stuff.. Would like some input.

I also have a 8800GT graphics card already, and am going to SLI another 8800GT later on both 512mb V-Ram. I am also going to get Vista Home Premium, and am going to keep my 200GB Sata Hard Drive

never buy open box items unless you have uber spare stuff around open box may be cheeper but it is always missing something spend the extra 40 for a non openbox

Yea i agree with jester, you should only buy open box/oem if you have built a few computers before with spart parts to use but otherwise they are still brand new just not in retail packaging. Also i think you should just get 4 gigs of ram unless you already have 2 gigs...more is better especially for vista

Yea ive built 4+ computers before have a few spare parts laying around. Also this 2GB Ram looks good for 20 bucks lol....idk good suggestions

The only open box item I have bought from Newegg came broken already. And with their open box policy, I lost the money. It is not worth buying open box stuff... buy new and keep the warranty... especially with a mother board.

I have built three computers this weekend using the Wolfdale 8400, so I can't argue with that choice... and your memory looks like a killer deal for sure!

While you are ordering... pick up 3-4 Scythe S Flex fans (the ones that move like 63.7cfm).... they are pretty cheap when you order three or more and they are VERY quiet... you will thank yourself for making your rig a little quieter... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185006

i think its the luck of the draw with your open box item being broken but yea the open box policy usually sucks but you could still resolve that with the manufacturer. If you really plan on buying a motherboard i would try to buy in stores because i find those to be the ones with the most problems and exchanging at a store is much faster and easier that sending it in online.
