WoW

I don't play WoW anymore, but I will give my insight on it seeing how I started playing in January of 2006.

After having three 70s (Paladin, Rogue, Priest, respectively), I came to the conclusion that the only thing worth in the game is end-game raiding and that's it. Pvp is a nice perk and doing daily quests gets you money, but it's not as self-gratifying as raiding. Once you're done raiding (and that's by getting your character 5/8 or 8/8 T6), there's pretty much nothing else to do. Yes, I'll be going back in WotLK just to level my characters up to 80.. who knows, I may reroll a new class before then, my record getting 1-70 is 10 days.

This jibes with my experience too. If you enjoy the end-game raiding and you have guildies who's company you enjoy then WoW has incredibly mileage. I did the hardcore raid thing for about a year and a half, all through the vanilla WoW content, and then all the pre-Sunwell TBC stuff and had a blast, but the content really isn't enough to keep you going on it's own. I lost interest pretty quickly after my guild did the inevitable giant drama-bomb/falling out. (Should probably be happy it lasted that long, lord knows we saw enough other guilds flame out spectacularly)

@MeowMix You need a 55, not an 80, so most people who resub for WoTLK should be able to roll DKs on day one.

if only we all had chars on the same server ;/

I just stopped playing WoW after playing since release. I've leveled several characters to 70. I ground rank for 12 hours a day back before the honor system revamp. I've arena'd competitively on several toons including several of Blizzard's arena tournaments. Here's my advice. If you care about PvP don't get started with WoW. I really can't talk about high end PvE because I haven't done that since Naxx. However, the PvP in WoW has pretty much gotten worse and worse since the release of the Xpac. Blizzard has consistently tried to please all aspects of their player base and the result is an absolute joke. This is just my opinion, of course, but I've known many veteran players who feel the same way. So, if you're looking for PvP stay away from WoW.

bc ruined the game
raiding was more fun and 40 mans were better
pvp is ridiculous resillience ruined the game and arenas borgified it
what happened to the big guild of ok players that was fun to be in

25 mans > 40 mans (Except AQ and Naxx. I loved those raids, actually took some skill)

PvP sucked after revamp and arenas. The old BGs will always be the best. Warsong Gultch FTW.

I bought WoW March of 2005 and played until August of 2007. I raided hardcore for around 2 years and I PvP'd extensively. It sucked up to many hours of my life that I won't get back. It was fun at the time and I met a lot of people all around the world but it consumes you. You always feel that there is something more you can get, and there is always something more you can do in that game it is after all an MMORPG, but it's really a false sense of accomplishment. At the end of the day you got new color pixels on your screen.

I am now a strong supporter of hating WoW, don't buy it or play it. Friends don't let friends play WoW online.

You Create A Deathknight, U do not turn ur characters into one. YOu have to be atleast lvl 55. You can make one deathknight Per Realm. Any Race can be a deathknight. Read for more info

Specs on the Deathknight -

Death Knight talents are split into 3 categories:

* Blood: This tree primarily amplifies the Death Knight's melee spells, weapons, and abilities.
* Frost: Primarily tanking talents & spells which enhance the Death Knight's defense and threat generation.
* Unholy: Talents that enhance summoned minions and diseases

Unlocking the Death Knight

For any players to unlock the first Hero Class, the Death Knight, the player must have a character level 55 or above. Currently, there are no plans for a quest to unlock Death Knights.

Once the class is unlocked for the account, a Death Knight can be created on any server (though it will be limited to one per server). For new servers not yet open to transfers, a level 55 character on that server is required to create a Death Knight there.

Level 55 Death Knight

Main article: Death knight quests

Any race is available for the death knight. When created, the death knight begins at level 55 with uncommon gear, 20s , as well as a few spells and abilities already learned. As any other class starting out, there is a beginning series of quests that bring the character into the game. Their first sword is the [Runed Soulblade], awarded for completing the second quest in the In Service of The Lich King quest chain.

Death knights come in to being with First Aid, Axes, Defense, Polearms, Swords, Two-Handed Axes, Two-Handed Swords and Unarmed at 270 skill.

Death knights will spawn in a necropolis in the Eastern Plaguelands, in a new starting area called Acherus: The Ebon Hold, which will include a dedicated questing area and class trainers.

I quit as of Jan 2008 after raising a 70 Warrior, 70 Priest, 70 Rogue, 70 Hunter, 70 Paladin.

I think you should try it out and see what it's like since my opinion is just an opinion and should be taken with grain of salt and humor.

My "main" was my warrior, I was on a second highest ranked guild on our server and I was the "main tank". It was fun for awhile but a job as a tank gets stressful because it does take work and practice. That's all I have to say about class of that game.

Far as the content goes, they do have plenty to offer, although if you do reach the end-game content, the game is over and it's just farming for gear over and over again. At that point, it's not the same feeling as downing a boss for the first time, rather a chore. Do keep in mind that there will ALWAYS be new end-game until they decide not to support the game anymore but even some of the older games still get patched quiet regularly. (Everquest, DAoC)

If you are looking for PvP (person vs person), yes it indeed does exist in mmos. I personally think that WoW PvP is a bit weak (maybe the new expansion will change things) but atm it's pretty much, go in an instance and farm for points. The only game I truly remember having an epic PvP moment was DAoC (Dark Ages of Camelot) where 100s of players were on the screen at once sometimes even lagging and my comp crashing was still the best ever and I'm sure there are plenty of people who would agree.

Guild system is well laid out but with any community, many of them suffer from drama. You WILL see people get so mad about gear and this and that.

I quit for personal reasons and am happy for it. I do not wish to offend anyone who still play the game nor discourage anyone to try it, play it, and get into it.
Do note that, if you decide, this game can pretty much become your full time job almost.
