With the new update the Kritzkreig charges 25% faster than the medigun, however the Medigun makes the healed player invulnerable while the kritzkreig makes the person's shots all critical. So.. which is better?

Well it is still very situational. All around the regular medigun is better hands-down, simply because you can be invincable. However, during quick defensive repels, or a quick-hit on a not-to-heavily guarded spot (the enemy spawn for example) the kritz can be a very powerful asset. Or a big annoyance if you are on the wrong end. Kritzing a soldier so he can take down both the sentry and its engy from a long range would take it down in seconds and allow for maybe 1-2 extra rockets before it was over.

As the name it is punning implies, that is how it is best played: A lightning war.

Hmm, It's questionable now but I probably prefer the regular uber. It's better to break thru defenses but I'll definitely be using the kritzkrieg more often now.

Personally the Medigun is better in all aspects except the speed in which it charges; and as many people say, the Kritzkrieg is very situational.

Oftentimes when I see the Kritzkrieg used effectively, it is when there is a coordinated rush with everyone else and a few ubers.

For Example: On Dustbowl 3, During the period between the Medic slowdown and pyro update, I played as a pyro, and my team had 2 mediguns and a Kritz. Me and the Kritz medic took the right house, a medic and demo built uber in the tunnels, and a medic-heavy built in the left house.
The two groups set off their ubers at the same time and rushed. Me and the kritz medic waited a few seconds and then rushed in, killing everyone and capping the point.

In short: Distract the entire team and sentries with Ubers, rush in and kill with Kritz.

One last thing I've found is that the Kritzkrieg is usually better on defense during the final minute or so when everyone starts rushing, regardless of ubers.

After playing on the new arena mode, i found the kritzkrieg to be very handy on those maps due to both teams being on a more offensive push.

It is still very situational, although I find that when working with people who communicate well, Kritzkreig is better in some situations.

Still, its not a straightforward answer. Its like asking "What class is the best?"
In smaller closed in maps, the pyro.
In larger wide open maps, the sniper.

Same with the kritz/medi.

Personally I have been using both today and I really like Kritz as well as the medigun. The kritz is great for killing other players while invulvn is better for taking down sentries and a bunch of players. I am starting to use kritz a lot before I never even touched it. They should make the uber on kritz a little longer like by 2 seconds or 3.

Very simple question, very simple answer. I'll buy a translator for those who do not understand this..

I find the kritz to be best used with FRIENDS ONLY.
I find the normal Invuln gun to be used with ANYONE.

USE BOTH..until then cry summoar.

i definitely prefer being invulnerable, then to be vulnerable but just have crits. now if your talking about a soldier, i prefer kritzkrieg

Im talking more through the perspective of a medic. I'm liking kritzkrieg a lot now because my "Ubers per death" are a lot higher with the kritzkrieg plus in all this heavy madness a heavy with only crits dominates (Not as strong as invuln)

Totally situational.... a Kritz can be devastating to the other team in the hands of the right demo *cough* YAHTZEE *cough* ;)... well in the hands of the right player. But on the other hand, sometimes a Kritz is completely useless because of sentries or spam where only an uber can be really be effective.

It really depends, in arena I use Kritz to get charged faster because it's a short match other than that I usually use Uber.

Situational. From the perspective of the medic, for stats, points, etc, Kritz has plusses. You get more assists, fewer deaths (as long as you are in a team which covers chokepoints, and you watch your back, not rushing in invulnerable, and retreating vulnerable, means you die less). You also can help wipe out the other team for a push. However, it's frustrating watching allies die, being helpless against sentries, and trying to fight ubers.

Meh. I used them about equally pre-update, depending on prevalence of sentries. I'll do the same after the update.

I find that the main weapon unlocks ie. backburner, kritzkreig and natasha, are all best at defence. Kritzkrieg is hopeless on attack (red sentries) but it repels the blues really well. the backburner is easier to sneak around with on defence too, and, natasha slows enemies so that the teammates around you can finish them off and you can slow the advance of medics and rushes.

I actually prefer the kritz, cause u charge more often and paired with a natasha, is unbelieveably overpowering. After you run out of plain ubercharge, cou can expect to be killed by a waiting assasin. You can feel powerful with the kritz and it is underrated.

9 times out of 10, I'm going with the normal medigun. It might be slower, but it's not horrible. On a map like Warpath where there's almost constantly someone around to heal, I can still get charged very quickly.

And invulnerability is good defense and offense, whereas Kritz is mainly good for a push. Since you can't change weapons on the fly, I just find it's better to use the medigun since it's far more likely that that's what I'll want anyways.

After playing on the new arena mode, i found the kritzkrieg to be very handy on those maps due to both teams being on a more offensive push.

I said this in another thread, but it's also good because the rounds are fairly short. I had a hard time getting an invulnerability charged before the round ended, but I was always getting a kritz up. And people can run away from invulnerability fairly easy for the most part. A kritz isn't the easiest thing to escape, especially with a soldier. (Morbo and I won a round last night, because I used kritz, and he killed two people with one missile.)
