Warhammer Online

As a non-official guild branch of eGO, would we actually name it as such, or something different?

We could name it the same or totally different, i dont care :) Egomaniacs maybe? hehe

(pre-ordered myself) If order, then elven swordmaster, or white lion. Destruction, Squig herder or chaos Chosen one, (thats like the elven swordmaster) both with slight magic focus (because honestly, the idea of warrior mage rocks!)

I don't know if I'll get the game due to money restraints, which means choosing between L4D, but I would like to. With that being said, I would not advise making a guild consisting of all edge gamers and/or being name after edge gamers. The reason for this being, MMOs can create drama over gear and loot. (I know this is mainly RvR but there is still PvE) Such drama does not not be brought to the community. If you still wish to form up and play with other edge gamers that's fine, please leave the drama out. Just a word of warning

Well anyway i hope I find a Gheed's Fortune grand Charm IRL and can get Warhammer. (Oh gheeds is a d2 reference for ppl who are like hu?)

I'm all sorts of psyched about WaR.

I originally wanted to be an orc, but during the preview weekend Order was outnumbered pretty much all the time. Plus the Warrior Priest sounds awesome. Want to play that.

However, I'll follow you guys. :)

Loot drama sucks... he makes a good point.

Loot seems mostly renown base., i dont plan on doing much pve, its too stressful like end game raiding pve

Loot drama is for nubs.

I was in a hardcore Taiwanese eq1 clan the whole time i played since beta, and man, they ran a tight ship...

People that show greed can get a swift kick... no problem with that.

With WoW in general, the mentality is in the wrong place, overall. War alone im freaking estatic that they are actively targeting ganking (I hate that in every pvp oriented MMO) and if they focus on being able for pvp to offer items, and that renown is given for a public quest, even if its only partially done for you, and is repeatable, you can save and buy what you need even if you never fully do that part. (It may take a slight bit longer, but you can get it easily) I agree Firesauce, a good guild can do wonders. Swg i was blessed to be a great Pve/PvP guild as the Doctor/Combat medic, and almost never fired a shot, just kept people in the fight. (its a huge support/heal/debuff route but you have more freaking survivabilty than Jedi.) They were respectful, and helpful, and in turn, those that did help were promoted and given more repsonsibility. those that weren't, got the boot really quick.

WAR isn't putting an emphasis on gear anyway. Not only is it not nearly as important as it is in WoW, it's soooo much easier to get. The best gear is from city sieging, and the distribution is done in a far less painful method than in WoW, and is available to a broader range of people.

Also, in PQs, the best gear is rewarded to the players with the best contribution for the duration of the quest. Anyone who complains of not being treated fairly, or not getting the gear they want, will have only themselves to blame in such a situation. If they want it, they're going to have to work for it, and no one else can be pinned with the fault.

Besides, being a PvP game... I think the drama would have more to do with players being immature, or something along those lines.

I don't really expect gear arguments. It's really not a big deal in WAR at all.

There is also the roll system, meaning a random person can stroll up in the last 30 seconds and place first. I have no problem with that, but some people do.

Still I agree, it would have to do with the players being immature in the first place, and loot isn't a big deal at all. I feel we have an abundance of maturity in eGO, at least with everyone I've met.

So let's do it. :)

And I want one that recreates old school UO or AC, without being a private shard/server.

:(

However, this is an excellent (if not better) alternative.

Yeah, but that's really unlikely. The more likely option is that someone who sticks around consistently getting first in contribution will not place 1st, and get the best piece of gear available, and end up having to do the PQ multiple times.

Eh, the PQ will give people who placed 1-3 loot bags, the loot in them isn't that amazing, the loot in them doesn't change (even if you place 1st three times in a row it will be the same green gloves, crafting items, or gold amount), and is nowhere near as good as the PQ quest reward itself. Everyone has to do it a few times to get the 3rd tier reward, so whats the big deal?

I remembered getting 1st in Troll Country and getting a chest reward that was quite a bit better than the renown reward.

That, and the stuff in the loot bags commonly makes up for what you can't get from renown rewards.
