So I'm editing the map in Hammer now, but I really dont know what to take out to get rid of Arena mode and what to add in to make it CP (other than the actual control points)

Some help would be appreciated!

ummm me i dont know how to take Arena off cuz when i mapped for TF2 it wasent on... So that i dont know but for cp you must put the CP's props and someting for HUD but the hud me dont remember sry

I don't know how successful that's going to be, RedFlag. Arena maps are designed with the purpose of small, localized combat in mind. I wouldn't even know where to begin in placing capture points. I think it just doesn't have enough room in it to do what you want.

CTF, however, seems kinda possible. You've got two bases and a central area. Yes, the gameplay would be fast and vicious, but It might be worth a shot.

As for removing arena mode, Rogue sniper said it best. Just find the entity either in the map or by using the find entities tool (and yes, I'm pretty sure it's info_gamerules.)

Extract the maps via GCFScape

Decompile the map via VMEX

Load map via Hammer

and those are the steps required

Valve does not lock their maps because they want you to use them for references

I'll try what you said for converting it, but as for the size, I'm extending a bunch of the borders around the map to add more to it and sealing up loose ends behind the borders.
If it turns out that it doesn't work well for CP, I'll try it as CTF.

Fair enough. I suppose if you are going to expand it, fine, but then it isn't really lumberyard anymore, is it? ;)

I'm not really expanding it, just moving some fences back to extend the current border.

since the map is small it would only really fit bout 3 cps after enlargement

ctf would work but not many spots to hide and defend from

I almost think the small size would be a nice twist on a CP map. It would certainly make for a lot of action IMO.
