I think on the next update they should make a new character. I thought it should be a ninja. I also made some pros and cons and a weapon list. Here gos. The weapons would be 1. throwing stars 2. black paint(ill tell you about it in a second) 3. a sword 4.smoke bomb.

Pros. The ninja will be like the scout in movement. Faster and able the jump twice. Also the ninja can backstab and go camo like the spy, except be able to be hidden twice as long.

Cons. The ninja has no gun, and the throwing stars don't do as much damage as any gun. When the ninja uses 2. weapon the paint to go camo he loses two thirds of his movement speed. He has smoke bombs, but they effect everyone.

Taunts. He will bow when equiped with stars. He will ramble on in Japanese when he has the black paint equiped. And When he has the sword equiped he will swing it and yell and if he uses it on an enemy it kills.

On the look I thought he should be in a ninja robe and face mask and it can be of course red and blue. He also has a sword casing attached with throwing stars on his belt.

Then if he is created they can do weapon updates. Such as nunchuks, and throwing knifes which will do more damage, but he will have less of them to use.

If you could just tell me what you think of the idea and what you would add or take away.

I think it's pretty good, but I don't think they will do the new class until all the curent classes are updated.

Yea thats quite good actually. And as Anders said i dont think they will release another class until they all have been updated. I want the next update to be the spy, thats my favourite class and i cant wait for an update to the butterfly knife, i wonder what they are going to do about it.

After that comes the Pirate, then the Clown? No new classes outside military based things. After all, a ninja? We already have a stealth character - the spy - and he works out just fine.

Ooooh...ewwww.

Although the creativity of new classes is interesting, I wouldn't like to see it. Besides, I think because of the class unlocks, it's already like playing another class, just slightly different.

I am one of the opinion that I hope it goes listed in the Philosophy on ubercharged.net and be an engi update. Someone put up some pretty neat ideas there.

ok i understand what yall are saying, but I did find this on Wiki.
"There is no evidence historical ninja wore all-black suits. In modern times, camouflage based upon dark colors such as dark red and dark blue is known to give better concealment at night."
Thats perfect for TF2.
I also wanted to add, not being rude or anything, that ninjas were supposed to be for military at one time, "conflicts between the clans of daimyo that controlled small regions of land had established guerrilla warfare and assassination as a valuable alternative to frontal assault. Since Bushidō, the samurai code, forbade such tactics as dishonorable, a daimyo could not expect his own troops to perform the tasks required; thus, he had to buy or broker the assistance of ninja to perform selective strikes, espionage, assassination, and infiltration of enemy strongholds."

But i do agree that the other updates would come first and that they probably won't ever use a ninja, but it would be cool. Thanks for the replys.

Interesting Idea but Anders is certainly right as valve wouldn't bother adding any new classes before the current ones are updated. Your Idea is pretty cool but booster is also right it probably wouldn't be too different to playing the spy. Good thinking though; I couldn't think of a unique new tf2 class if my life depended on it :|

The TF2 developers did an interview a while back, and when asked about the possibility of new character classes in TF2 they said, "...it's something we have talked about." Nothing concrete, but a definite possible maybe from Valve is about all we're likely to get on that...

For the updates, it seems like they're rolling them out by class:

1st: Support class: Medic
2nd: Offense class: Pyro.
3rd: Defense class: Heavy.

Does this maybe mean the next update will be for the Sniper or the Spy?

I hope it's the spy, because I <3 playing Pyro...

Yes yes I know that ninjas were for military use 200+ YEARS AGO. Get with the times. Keep it current, and don't do stupid things to amazing games. Example: Turn Ultima Online (warriors and wizards) to necromancers and elves, knights and paladins... Yeah, see the point I'm making? Keep it as one.

i dont think there should be anymore classes. it would ruin the balance that was implemented.

Yup, just yesterday I saw an enemy Pyro in the military lighting our soldiers with a flame thrower then axing them to death... It's my pet peeve when people say a something has to stick to the way it already is, Sure right now most of the classes are military themed so that just destroys the chance of valve putting in a class that isn't military based? No. It's not up to us to pick the games theme, so valve can put in what ever they want. Gosh people don't tell me you've never played Go Fish with Monopoly Chance cards, we can improvise and SO CAN VALVE. /endrant Good idea on the Ninja thing, but I think it's to much like a spy.

I am 100% sure its going to be spy (spy is less played) if they're doing it by type of classes (which they are)

Honestly, it'll be incredibly hard for Valve to introduce a new class without having it's fanbase go up in arms. The 9 class, 3-3-3 type really needs no fixing in my opinion, a class can counter another, a class can be countered, yet the counter-eds can still come out if skilled/lucky enough. It entices both new players and old players alike

What if Valve eliminates one of the characters and introduces another?

They could say, "Class X isn't being played that much anymore. Let's get rid of it and introduce a new character."

Probably not likely to happen;however, wouldn't it be neat to finally be rid of the spy? :)

Bring on the ninjas!

Me Want Engineer Update Now. IM tired of eating Sandviches. Need lvl 4 Sentry the moves about. Me Want Mini Tank haha

I don't think Valve would change the characters now. I really don't see any reason too. Personally, I think the game is very well balanced. As for the next achievement pack, I want Engie.

They really should have released the Spy before the Pyro, now that you think about it. Whenever the Spy comes out, I'm farming 100%.
