Big Bang Experiment. Sounds like doomsday to me.

one thing to say

KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMM

The man behind the world?s biggest scientific experiment, which critics claim could cause the end of the world, is a Welsh miner?s son who has admitted blowing things up as a child.

*cough* Demoman *cough*

Anyway, the potential of this experiment has been around for a while. I've seen news of things such as this going around for a while, although none of them actually performed the experiment, merely speculated.

Even a popular book by Dan Brown (Author of Da Vinci Code) wrote a book concerning CERN and the huge underground "Donut" and how it was used to create the Big Bang.

Okay my friend just told me about this. I read it on it fox news.com then looke?Nothing will happen for at least four years,? he said. ?Then someone will spot a light ray coming out of the Indian Ocean during the night and no one will be able to explain it.

?A few weeks later, we will see a similar beam of particles coming out of the soil on the other side of the planet. Then we will know there is a little quasar inside the planet.?

Its 2008 right now. In 4 years is 2012.

This has been the talk of the office today, everyone seems to think today is the "beginning" of the big bang and we won't actually die for atleast another month! Nice..

Mike,

Hello, I am from approximately two months in the future. On 10/22 at approx 2:34am CET a tachyon field failure in the main resonating ring of the LHC causes a "temporal blowback". Shortly thereafter, the resulting destruction of the strong nuclear force causes the world to vaporize in seconds, while a few of us near the experiment are thrown into a temporal causality loop. While the predestination event (or as we have come to call it "The Big Rewind") hasn't occurred yet to you, for us it is about three years in our past. I came across your site looking to see if there were any other scientists that may have theorized this phenomenon who may be of assistance in preventing it. This brings me to my point, I have repeatedly checked your site for the past five rewinds at 2:34:01 CET and it still says nope, believe me at this point the LHC has most assuredly destroyed the world. I can provide a bank account in Nigeria for the funds to be placed. I am curious to the exact amount however.

Its an experiment, with all experiments there are multiple out comes, and some just plain crazy. The world was supposed to end, the world is ending in 4years, and is ending now?You wont be able to predict it. The world wont end from the hands of a scientist or hands for that matter.

Actually today was the firing up of the generator. They were testing to see if they could successfully get the particles to go around the entire run. The actual collision won't occur until sometime next year.

It's been on for about 16 hours at this point, and still no sign of Vortigons or Headcrabs. We may survive this yet...

I seen the machine on the Discovery Channel and what it did. It could make a blackhole. But not big enough to rip the space time. So there is nothing to worry about. They (and I) want to see what kind of stuff was sitting there at the beginning of the universe. Its not there any more and the only way to remake it is to do it in a partical smasher. I think it is intresting.

From Half-life script:

Scientist 6: "I'm afraid we'll be deviating a bit from standard
analysis procedures today, Gordon."
Scientist 7: "Yes, but with good reason. This is a rare opportunity for
us. This is the purest sample we've seen yet."
Scientist 6: "And, potentially, the most unstable."
Scientist 7: "Now, now, if you follow standard insertion procedure,
everything will be fine."
Scientist 6: "I don't know how you can say that. Although I will admit
that the possibility of a resonance cascade scenario is extremely
unlikely."
Scientist 7: "Gordon doesn't need to hear all this, he's a highly
trained professional. We've assured the administrator that nothing will
go wrong."
Scientist 6: "Ah...yes, you're right. Gordon, we have complete
confidence in you."
Scientist 7: "Well, go ahead. Let's let him in now."

The two scientists use retinal scanners to unlock the door, and Gordon
enters the test chamber. Inside, the scientists communicate with Gordon
over the intercom.

Intercom 1: (feedback)"Testing, testing. (coughs) Everything seems to
be in order."
Intercom 2: "All right, Gordon. your suit should keep you comfortable
through all this. The specimen will be delivered to you in a few
moments. If you would be so good as to climb up and start the rotors,
we can bring the anti-mass spectrometer to 80 percent and hold it there
until the carrier arrives.
Intercom 2: "Very good. We'll take it from here."
Intercom 1: "Power to stage 1 emitters in 3,2,1. I'm seeing predictable
phase arrays."
Intercom 1: "Stage 2 emitters activating...now."
Intercom 2: "Gordon, we cannot predict how long the system can operate
at this level, nor how long the readings will take. Please, work as
quickly as you can."
Intercom 1: "Overhead capacitors to one oh five percent. Uh, it's
probably not a problem, probably, but I'm showing a small discrepancy
in... well, no, it's well within acceptable bounds again.
Sustaining
sequence."
Intercom 2: "I've just been informed that the sample is ready, Gordon.
It should be coming up to you any moment now. Look to the delivery
system for your specimen."

Gordon pushes the cart into the machine. Electricity begins arcing out
of control all around the machine.

Intercom 1: "Oh dear!"
Intercom 2: "Gordon, get away from the-"
Intercom 1: "Shutting down-no, attempted shutdown. It's not-it's not,
it's not shutting down!"

A huge explosion rocks the spectrometer, and the intercom cuts off in a
scream. Gordon sees several flashes of an alien landscape, then comes
to in the wreckage of the machine. The next chapter title comes up:

UNFORESEEN CONSEQUENCES

Scientist 1: "Why didn't they listen? We tried to warn them."
Scientist 2: "I never thought I'd see a resonance cascade, let alone
create one."

Scientist 1: "Gordon, you're alive! Thank God for that hazard suit. I'm
afraid to move him and all our phones are out. Please get to the
surface as soon as you can and let someone know we're stranded down
here. You'll need me to access the retinal scanners. I'm sure the rest
of the science team will gladly help you."

Guard: "Gordon! Man, am I glad to see you! What the hell are these
things? And why are they wearin science team uniforms?"

Since we are talking about doomsday machines and stuff I thought that this would fit really well here.

Actually if you look this up on google news it tells you why its not possible to make a black hole and it gives some explanation.

They say its just a rumor going around the internet...and you guys are spreading it o.O
