I live on the very tip about a hour away from South Prade Island. The last one that hit us wasn't that bad at landfall Cat. 2 but inland Cat 1. I remember high winds, branches falling, even some of our trees were uprooted! Now this storm has the potential to increase in strength and it is going to move one of two ways. If the high pressure stays it will vere south towards my neck of the woods. If that pressure is not present it will vere north towards E and NE Texas. So for all of those who live in my area, San Antonio,Houston, Corpus Christi keep track of this and be safe.

I just think that it's interesting that 3 of the tracks have it pretty much hitting San Antone, Austin AND Dallas.

I'm a a South Texas boy myself. I have family in the Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Castroville, Coriscana and Stephenville.

Now, I live in LaLa land, but I got my eye on this storm as well. The only good thing about a Hurricane is it gives you some warning. Batten down the hatches!

I watched a video on weather.com about hurricanes going through these "invisible boxes" that are by Cuba and if a hurricane passes through those boxes the hurricane would be strong.

I hope all you guys stay safe!

Don't go kite surfing during a hurricane! http://www.weather.com/multimedia/videoplayer.html?clip=10827&from=hp_main_tab4 (If it dosen't show up on the right video scroll down and check out "911 call for kite surfer thrown by Fay"

I've got friends and family down in Tx, they are all getting ready for this.

Good luck to you guys that are down there,m I hope everything comes out alright.

so far this feels like the busiest hurricane season we've had in a while...

oh well, time to stockpile toilet paper and beer

I guess. I'm sure it still won't top 2005, but it has been a lot busier...

Well, I'm glad its not hitting Florida, but my blessings are with those in Texas.

last i heard its headed straight at corpus. so ultimately its headed straight for me :-/

It's times like this that make me glad i live in Ohio

OHIO FTW!!!
we get no tornado's (not very often that is)
no hurricanes
no forest fires
no earthquakes
on the other hand...

we get hot humid summers
we do get flash floods sometimes
and every once in 20-50 years we get a blizzard that will cancel everything for the next week.
