I was just curious if other players seem to play significantly better on a specific map.

A few weeks ago, I started playing on Turbine more consistently and for some unkown reason, I tend to play extremely well on that map. I know that we all have our favorites, but this is a bit different. It's like I get into a zone every time I play on the map.

As you can see by my sig, I'm not terribly good (1.08 kill to death ratio), but on Turbine, I'm consistently throwing out numbers more in the 2.5 kill per death ratio.

Just wondered if anyone experienced this sort of map discrepancy?
 
I do better on 2Fort than Path of War...guess narrow, enclosed corridors work in favour of soldiers/demos :p
 
I'm epic on Black mesa, also, I play different classes depending on the map, because it seems to me that although most maps intended for balance for any and all classes some tend to favor specific classes.

Har Har. Black Mesa! I seem to rock there compared to almost every map. It's actually the only map I can snipe on.
 
Well, I definitely favor Soldier over others, so maybe it's just that Soldier plays well on Turbine *shrug*
 
I am epic sexiness on Warpath with sniper or demo, and just recently I've been in the zone as a engy on 2fort.
 
I play soldier, demo, and medic primarily on warpath unless our team needs something else and it's already stacked with good players in these classes.
 
i am pretty decent on Goldrush...i play a different class depending on what situation i am in...or what is needed for the team..but i still think that DB Heights is my strongest map.....every now and then i head over to Convoy to give my sniper rifle a good workout...although it's a bit easy at times...
 
At chaos i had 4 deaths and 61 points in one round as an engineer. And to anser your question, yes im am VERY Good at some maps, and so-so on others.
 
Its hard to keep a good score on Dustbowl. If you look at HLXstats, alot of the top 100 ranked people play there consistently, so matches tend to be very unforgiving to your kill ratio. 2Forts instant respawn tends to attract a lot of newer players (imo), so my score goes up alot there. :P "Pwning nubs" as they say.
 
I think it also has something to do with how well you know the map. I play 2fort the most and I know that map like the back of my hand. When I play a map I don't play on often I don't do as well because I don't know the hiding spots or the good sniper spots. Even though on most maps it's fairly difficult to get lost you still need experience to know the good spots for sentries, spies, snipers, etc... Experience with what class you play also influences how good you are too.
 
How good I do is very map related. I always play soldier pretty much. And I always do good on Steel and Goldrush. However, I suck on 2fort and and warpath. I dunno why...
 
I don't know. I think after playing a map for a long time, you get to know the ins and outs a lot better than the average joe. I know I have gotten numberless amounts of kills on people with 1000 points in turbine who just don't really know what they are doing yet.

certainly knowledge is power, in this particular instance.
