Well I made the mistake of going for more cosmetic than computer cooling features for a recent rig i built. I have the Cooler Master Cosmos 1110 RC full tower:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119138. It seemed like a great new design to go with but it is not. The intake fan is on the bottom of the face than the standard front where the drive bays are located. It does have 3 exhaust fans in the rear. One in the back the 2 on the top. I have not ran into any overheating problems but I know I can get better temps with a different case. I am Idle at 43c with a Thermaltake V1 cooler on my Core 2 Duo E8500 and 50-51c on full load. My vid card will be idle @ 43c and 60c full load. Reading up on the Tech forums I was introduced to the Antec Series of computer cases and I really like the setup of the Antec 900 Full Tower case:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129043&Tpk=Antec full. It is set up the proper way with alot of air going IN and OUT of it. Unfortuantly I bought the Cooler Master from Compusa the now owned Tigerdirect stores. I am still under 30 days and will be contacting the Store Manager to see if I can return it. I am sure they have a 15 percent stocking fee which I am more than happy to take a hit on to get the right case that wll help me out in the next couple of years of owning the computer. I would like any other suggestions on cases as well but I feel strong about getting the antec case. For anyone who currently owns any Antec cases I would like some feed back on the tempuratures you are getting. Thank you. Wish my luck everyone.

If you're mainly interested in cooling features, the Antec 900 is a great case. The Antec 1200 is also a decent air-cooling case, and just a hair more expensive.
Sorry to hear you didn't like the Cosmos case - it's the one I keep considering for my new build. Is there a reason other than the fan placement that you didn't like it?

Kodiak do you have the same case? I don't get what your post is refering to. but thanks for the input. Unfortunatly the Cosmos case as you can see on the link provides two fans but one is used for the PSU. I am waiting to recieve my fan controller from Newegg to see if it improves performance but if it does not I just spoke with the manager for my local compusa store and will be getting a refund which I will use to order the Antec case.

The problem I have with the Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 Rc( dont get mistaken with the new S model)is that yes cold air comes in from the bottom and heat rises. Yes it does have pleanty of exhaust on the top and back of the case. Heck it even comes with a adapter to reroute air from the Vid card out to its out vent but its ambient and no force with that vent. They should have added a fan. But to only have one fan for the entire case, mind you its a full tower doesn't circulate air that well. I feel after reading reviews on the cooler I have for my CPU it should be colder than it is. Also there is no front intake fan so there is no way for the HDD to be cooled. You can not have a HDD cooler on it because its slot based design. It does allow for the fan to be added to the top of the drive bay where the HDDs are stored in but it doesnt push enough air and not directly to the HDD. But I am not big on HDD cooling because I do not have anything running at extreme speeds but the cooler the computer is overall the longer it will run without problems is my moto.
Now the plus features are there for the case. Do not get me wrong, I even told Mr. Awesome the temps and he said it was pretty good for the ambient temp I have in my house. The whole setup is screwless design which is great for fast component switch outs. This is the first case I have had where the power supply is on the bottom of the case and it has its own vent so it gets air that is filtered as well. There is alot of room and they have designed the case to have areas to ziptie cables and maximize airflow. It has 4 usb,1 firewire, even a eSata port.(even though one of the usbs was defective.) But I regret the purchase because I didn't research into the case. I just bought it on a limp as to the core PC components I took the time to get it right. I really like the design of the Antec cases even though its still bound to using hardware to install slot cards.
I am not entirely sure if I will be purchasing the case because I will be out of a computer till then. I do not have any extra cases to store my components in. I checked with newegg tracking and my fan controller should be on its way. I will set that up first to judge if I will end up keeping the case or not. I just hope it gets here today because I told the manager I would be going in today.

Well, let me know as you continue with the Cosmos case and your final feelings/decision. I love the look of the case, and have heard great things about it being very quiet. However, I over clock, so if heating is an issue then I'll be getting a different case.

Well I am sure stock fans always suck. Which is why i ordered the fan controller to push the fans with more power to see if it adds that extra cooling. I do not OC but I want to but with these current temps I am afraid. Yes the cause is great for sound as each side has padded to keep in the sounds but I don't know how strong it acts as an insulator.
There are one slot in the bottom for 120mm, two on the top for 120-140mm and one rear 120mm fan in the case. I put my own 120 high CFM fan in the back as an exhaust and it keeps my CPU idle at 43C and 50 on a full load. I was thinking about switching out all the stock fans for more effeciant ones but I feel that there is not need to spend more money on the the cooling of the case than what it already comes with. I maybe wrong on that one. So I am awaiting to recieve the fan controller to see how it helps the overall performance. I really do not want to go to the hassel of returning the case and waiting for the new one to be sent to be from newegg.

So I get the fan controller and it took off 1-2 degrees when stress tested on everest. That is pretty good from stock fans. I do not think I will be taking the case back I do like it. I just have to work with it to make it colder. I will be ordering new fans for it. 4-120mm or 2-120mm and 2-140mm. Please everyone who reads this give some feed back on fans you have ordered and have used. I do not mind 30-40db as far as sound goes because if i go lower it will not move around enough air. He introduced me to Yate Loon case fans and boy do the specs get me giddy. Medley I am looking more towards the 1200 because I need a full tower. If you look at my new rig thread a while back I have a huge Heatsink and Vid card.

So my fans arrived today from Fedex and I installed them in my case not so long ago. I ordered 3 120mm 70cfm 33db yate yoon fans. I placed two on top for exhaust and the last one on the bottom for intake. I scraped off maybe 2 degrees from the CPU and about 5-9 from the Video card. Overall it is what I expected because of the design of the case I am sorry to say. They are good temps so I will not be returning the case and going with Antec. I made my decision and I am going to stick with it. I am pretty sure I can get some lower temps on the CPU when I re-seat it with the proper amount of Thermal Paste(I think I put a little to much)

If you're brave enough, you could sand the top of your cpu using 2000+ grit sandpaper as well as the heatsink bottom and put a thin layer of Arctic silver 5. It would shave more temps off your cpu but it does void your cpu warranty. What cooler are you using? Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme?
