OK, hear me out on this... I have no clue how to make anything like this at all but I thought I'd throw the idea out there just to see what people think anyway...

Cart starts on the bridge, the tracks go through the hallway (as opposed to the cave under or the little side valley places near bridge) and all the way back to right next to the first cap point.

BOTH teams are trying to push the cart to the other base! You must capture the cart and it turns your team's color. Capturing the cart is exactly like capturing a point, stay by it for X amount of seconds without the other team there. Once you have captured the cart you can push it towards the other team's base. When the cart has stopped moving it has the countdown timer just like other payload maps, but instead of just going backwards slightly the cart becomes neutral once again and must be captured by a team in order to move it again...

As far as checkpoints go, you could just have 1 right as you are leaving the hallway, and one near the first point where the valley forks (if that makes sense). All checkpoints do is add time since the other team can capture the cart eventually and push it back over the other direction...

What do you guys think of that? I think it would be WAY more fun letting both teams try to win by pushing the cart rather than one only getting to defend!

Hmm.... Although I'm interested in the concept, I'm just not sure that a payload that can change teams would work with Warpath. Right now, the payload can only go backwards to the last point. By making it be able to be controlled by both teams, it would ultimately make the game too slow of a seesaw ride. I know right now it is a seesaw game which is a major draw for me to play Warpath. I'm just having a hard time thinking of playing Warpath, with all of its ups and downs and having to babysit a bomb at the same time. Perhaps a smaller map would work better? More like a simple tug-o-war type action?

Since Goldrush came out, I've been thinking it'd be cool to have a payload map where one team isn't limited to just being offense or defense. I have no clue how this would actually work in practice, but it sounds like it could be a very fun map.

Unfortunately, I have no clue how to build anything like this either.

Hmm good idea! I'm not sure anyone could win a round though... It seems like it would be too easy to recover from an attack.

I've always liked the idea of a payload map where both teams can push, but I don't think it'd work on warpath.

Well, it would be neat, but there are a lot of problems with it.

1. Too narrow.
2. Too long.
3. Because of 1 and 2, it would take forever to finish (not that warpath isn't like that already :p)

I'd also include not a lot of chokepoints (PL-wise), but that would cancel out seeing that the map is long enough.

I actually tried to make this exact thing. I've been in touch with the author of the map, Sacrifist. I made a rudimentary prototype, have been having issues with it. If anyone is interested in attempting it PM me with your steam name and I can send you the file.

I like that idea. But we would have to find someone that knows a lot about making maps. That would be fun. I think the payload maps right now are fun. A payload that can move from one side to another would be even more fun. That is a good idea.

Ok,

I couldn't resist this idea.... Since this is eGO we are talking about, I propose that Dragonhill create for us a Steal the Bacon map and game type. Merge the concepts of Arena and Payload together and voila! Steal the Bacon TF2 style. =)

Ok, I'll leave the details of the project to the mapmakers.
