A reminder about admin chat

It is starting to get out of hand on servers with admins using admin chat for ordinary game chat and this needs to stop. So it doesn’t appear that this is just leadership making more mandates for the sake of exercising authority, we’re ASKING that you stop.

If you want to say hello to everyone, use all chat (something I do every time I join a game). If you want to say something to someone on your team, use team chat. The reason we don’t want you using admin chat for game chatter is that admin chat is there for reasons of administration. I myself, have been dulled down to seeing admin chat and I realize that the reason why is because too often most of the messages have absolutely NOTHING to do with admin. And this needs to stop. This is not difficult and not unreasonable. If it continues to be an issue, it will be dealt with. Please, stop using admin chat for things that can be said in other chat modes. Thanks everyone.

Admin chat can be used by e's too, so this is a good place for it... and I agree... I got involved in a game in the last couple of days when admin-all-chat was being used for normal conversation... it made me stop paying attention to the text... so the results happen really quick.

I have made the mistake once of using admin-only chat to talk to another admin about non-admin stuff... I did it without thinking, and I know it was wrong... it will not happen again... no matter how many time he sets me on fire in Mesa!

Exactly! For the past few weeks, I've had to remind e's eG's and eGO's. It gets really frustrating, especially when people can't let you know what's going on in game with somebody or answer your questions via admin chat but they can have their own little conversations in admin chat.

When you enter a server and your an eG. We want EVERYONE to say hello in admin chat. Acknowledge that there is another admin present. Also, this leaves out the question. Are you an eG?, and do you have admin? If they don't respond then you know its not an admin. Thats always been they way edgegamers has done it.

But do not have FULL blown conversations in admin chat. Its ok to say hello to your fellow admins. We want that.

From wes's post, that sixxgunn's post it quite out of date, still stands to only use it for admin realted, but you are supposed to greet people acording to garden.

I'm not an admin, so I can't really SEE the chat. But I try to only use it to alert admins of things they might not be aware of. Sprays, player names, etc.

Should I stop doing that? I suppose I could, I had just assumed that I was like. Supposed to.

You shouldn't stop doing that it can be a great help if we've missed something. I'd usually wait after a minute or 2 as well as the admins may be in the middle of typing a warning or something.

Yes, please do greet people upon entering the server.

I never really cared for this rule, but i do see the point of it. You don't want a bunch of GREEN text going crazy when your trying to handle a problem. So keep the chat to a MINIMUM, and you should be fine.

REMEMBER to greet EVERYONE when you enter the server.
