Lately when ever going on to a public channel on vent, people (this includes eGO members) are using language what in the game would be a reason for warning/kick/ban. I am not talking about when someone slips up, but when this language is being used in a profound and frequent way. When I bring this up, I get often the reply that this is allowed :(. I posted this question during a eG vs. eGO road trip, and the reply was to behave mature and you are not supposed to do this in public channels, but for private channels this was not as big of a deal, but you are supposed to follow the rule since this is a mature gaming community (makes sense to me).

I came to eGO for the reason to play and communicate with others without having to hear immature language, no matter in game or on vent. Can council put in their $0.02 please, and get some clarity on this? Maybe it would be a good to put an ?eGO rules of conduct? up on the web-site so folks can reference this whenever necessary.

Thank you,

MenOpaws

vent is a place that allows members to relax and not have to be judged about every statement that they make. As long as it is not in the lobby, i believe it is allowed.

I agree with you MiseryX -TR-, but I slip up myself occasionally... But also MenOpaws people should have the common sense to continue representing EdgeGamers with a positive standing since the vent server IS a publicly available place and we do have younger members and players in every channel private or not...

Anywere there is eGO great respect and self control is a must. I frequently tell others to tone down the swearing or I will have them reported to the proper admins, this kind of conduct is not accpected in game nor Ventrillo.

Cursing is allowed in vent, just not in the lobby or general rooms.

If someone asks you to stop swearing you must otherwize you will be subjected to being warned by Vent Admins or even possibly temporary banned as a punishment or banned permanently.

If I'm in a private vent channel I will always say keep the swearing low.

Vent is different from the servers and the forums. The rules are more relaxed as it is a place for members to just chill. However, in the general discussion channels, don't go overboard. Keep it somewhat clean, you never know who might pop in.

However, If someone asks you to stop in a general channels, STOP.

I'd take masterofpuppet's word.

Generally, if you're offended by it, politely ask the person to tone it down, or move out of the channel.

It doesn't go so much about being offended, it is more to keep a mature level of conversation in the channel. If someone should back out, it is the person abusing the language. Maybe counsil should put up a channel special where the are no restrictions on language use. This way people who do not want to hear or participate in low level conversation know to stay out.
