CPU Speed

So the recommended CPU speed for CoD:4 is 2.4 GHz. I only have 2.10, which passes the minimum requirements, but would the lack of CPU make a huge difference or should I not buy the game?

Please don't tell me I should buy just because it is amazingly awesome. I only want to know if it would be fun with my comp's level of runability.

I'd imagine that It would not be fun for you due to the possible graphical lag. It would be gamble.

Your going to get around 30-35 FPS,which wouldnt be a major difference over say,60 fps.
Buy it.

of course it also depends on the processor you have, a 2.4 Ghz Pentium and a 2.4 Ghz Athlon 64 and a 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo are totally different... what processor do you have?


hence the reason they've stopped marketing processors by their Ghz...

Also - what graphics care are you using? that will make a difference as well.

You'll play it fine... I got around 25-30FPS on my old 2.2 AMD... 4200+ I think it was.. :O

yeah like trykael said, it also depends on the graphics card that you are using. THAT will be the major factor in wether the game on your computer is gameable. i am currently using a 2.5 GHz Pentium 4, with an ATI Radeon AGP 3850, and im getting about 45 frames constantly.

I can run COD4 with an AMD 3800+ well. though I do have 4gb or RAM and a radeon 4870

The deciding factors is what graphics card you have, what detail you want, and what kind of FPS you're looking for.

If you want to max out the game at 60+ fps, you're probably going to have to upgrade your GFX (depending on what you have) and probably your processor. If you're happy with 800x600 and med/low details, you should be fine even on integrated graphics.
