creating a server ??

So can anyone give me some good instuctions on what i need to do to beable to go in, lets say, synergy mod, and click the creat server option and actually have people able to join ? whever i make one people can never join

Ummm, go offline? best way, or make rooms to 1 (if possible).

What you need to do is this:
Before you click create server:
sv_lan 0 in console (makes it so any games created will be ON THE INTERNET_
Forward the port "27015" in your router (if possible)
Go to http://whatsmyip.org/ and figure out your IP...
Give this info to your friends: your.ip.goes.here:27015

Start the server have them connect to your IP like this through console: connect your.ip.goes.here:27015

Voila it works :3

GGVW i think he was talking about the tool in steam not the one off the site.
