Starting a House v. House League

I think I can speak from a unique perspective, as I ran eGO's scrim program for the duration of the House v House scrims. Much of what Booster said is accurate, and so I won't reiterate it. But not only did it cause strife and conflict between the houses, it created an administrative nightmare.

I personally was juggling between dozens and dozens of PM's about players having attitude problems, complaining of cheating, and god knows what else, after every single match. I'm sure many members of the Council faced similar issues.

As fun as they were for SOME people (not the losing houses), it's a simple matter of cost-benefit analysis. And the problems and frustration of those scrims outweighs any possible fun factor.

Well then maybe there can be like independent scrims.

As in one House inviting another for a friendly match

That way at least we get to play House vs House, even if it's not official or part of a structured tournament.

Thank You Spetz for your input because managing such a program would be a nightmare to control. This is why I advocate pushing for more organization to control the different problems that are already being predicted and warned by Booster and yourself. To be quite honest, this is the most difficult aspect of creating such a program while using the internet as our main communication venue. If we had a giant DoD convention in some Holiday Inn most of the boasting and carry on we see on the internet would be mostly diminished solely on the basis (and we have all done it) we criticize more harshly when we are not face to face with our opponent. Henceforth, developing such a tournament would have to follow a zero tolerance rule (teaching term for, you screw up or break a rule, your done and out). We can increase the punishment from just being kicked off a team by increasing it to effect a team as a whole (or possibly the shutting down the tournament completely). I appreciate all the advice you guys are giving me and I wish for you to keep informing me of the organization problems and social problems that we have faced before in this program.

Aim Well and Be Good,
RedTommy
