Now that Left 4 Dead is now open for public demo play, what are your opinions on it.

For me, I dont think I will buy it at first. 50$ is a lot for that game, and it seems like it wont be worth the 50$ right off the bat. The game is awesome fun though.

There's kind of another thread, but let's keep this one strictly on opinions instead of everything else. :p

Well, I was playing with Legend, Cr@sh, and Ryder (I was Zoey, lol), and it was certainly a treat. It's fun shooting things, the constant worry about a boomer, hunter, witch, tank, or smoker hiding around the corner always keeps you on your toes, and the Director does a great job. The weapons work efficiently, and a careful teammate will be sure if shooting ahead when an ally is in front to do little to no damage to them. Teamwork is essential, but of course, we all knew that. One time, I ran slightly ahead of the team and was confronted by a boomer and a smoker, lol. I did like how I wasn't lagging anywhere as much as I normally would on the other source games, which is interesting, although I was host for one of our two attempts through the stages.

Only problem I have is the price. It isn't worth $50. It just isn't. I'll definitely be waiting for a price drop. Overall, I give it an A-.

I'm probably going to buy it again. (Got my roommate a copy so I could play the early demo on a good computer.) I can run it on super low settings on my computer.

Its a great game for playing with friends if your bored. And I never seem to get bored with it every time I play with someone,Now that its out for demo I see more servers Spawning Zombie hordes witches and Tanks which just makes the game more fun and difficult. It is hard to get in a game with some of your friends at times because of the four person limit unfortunately. It was defiantly worth my $45.

Its going to get better when the full game is released and people can start playing as the infected.Which will make the game more difficult and fun.

Its a different game very time, and playing LAN with friends gives you loads of options to tweak the console commands to fit you best :D

Well Ive only played the demo so far, but in a nutshell, it seems like it would be fun for a while then get kinda boring.

Awesome times. I can agree, it is not worth the $50. Although the demo only showed 2 levels, which were awesome, I can only wait and see what the other 18 maps will be like. We played the maps twice each, and that was all for me. The director is awesome, but I like how they mix up the positions from where the hordes come. The question is, once we play all of the 20 maps a few times, will the game get boring? I can only imagine what type of custom maps will come out for this game, I sure hope valve plans on updating and giving fresh content just like Team Fortress 2.

After playing the demo on both pc and xbox 360, i have to say the pc is way better. But on the other hand, there are a lot of griefers if you play on a public server for the pc. On the xbox, everyone just gets along and plays the game. As previously mentioned, i dont think this game is worth $50, ill also wait for a price drop.

Worth the 45$

Demo gets repetitive but full game wont since you have 4 movies and plus custom maps

Already pre-ordered it, deffinitly worth it. ^^

I think it is executed perfectly. The way it's different everytime is such a good thing though, because without that it probably would get boring.

The weapons are decent, although I don't like the auto-shotgun's model, and the Uzi / hunting rifle look too cartoony. Very glad the pistol's are Colt .45s, cause they look bomb.

Hoping custom skins will work with this game, mainly for weapons. The player models are good, and the zombie models are even better.

It is very un-intensive on your GPU actually. I'm running on Full settings (High everything, 8xMSAA, 16x filtering), and have fairly decent FPS, as there are no framerate issues, unlike other source games. Much better optimization, I guess.

I think this game deserves a 90+ on the Metascore thing on Steam.

I very much enjoyed the demo 50 dollers is alittle steep but I will get because this is the first perfect zombie game in my opion so that makes it wroth it in my books.

All though I'm not happy about the price I still will get it.. call it an investment.

Well $50 is the average price for brand new games, so its expected. I think I'll buy the game once it cleaves off at least $15 which would be consistent to how valve usually prices gauges its games. If its really doing bad in sales, lowest would be $5 like DOD:S but we know its not going there.

if killing hordes of zombies every gets boreing, then life will truley have no meaning...

is it worth 50 bucks? I dont know, I dont think so, but since its one of the few zombie games out there, ill buy it. The first 2 levels we were shown were a bit to simplistic and way to quick, and normal mode is way to easy, and advance is borderline to easy. But they were only the first 2 levels of 5 levels, I can only assume as you move on the levels become that much harder to beat.

the thing im most disapointed in, is the selection of weapons. They say there is 10 diffrent ones, and at first glance you might think you have 5, and maybe thats still true. The uzi, shotgun, assult rifle, hunting rifle, auto shotgun. But if you add in the hand gun, moltov, and pipe bomb, you already have 8 right there. And if you wanted to really be extream about it, theres also that mini gun in the end meaning 9, only 1 or 2 missing, but they could have meant 10 diffrent primary weapons.

the other thing im worried about is, people will figure out the fastest routes from point a to point b after playing it a couple of times, so there wont be any of that, rnning around trying to figure out where you are, almost wish it was possible for the game to create randomly generateing maps as well, but that would take allot of resoruces.

I like the game and the team work that the game promotes, I love killing zombies, and being the infected will be fun, as long as you dont fight a bot that is... I think the game is worth getting, but will it replace games like tf2 or cod4/WaW I dont think so, it will be its own fun little game for people to play, so with those few concerns listed, I vote its a buy, maybe more so when the price comes down, when ever that will be.
