Do you guys get this jump in your stomach when you log onto the TF2 division announcements page, see a list for the new eG's? You quickly scan the list once, and then scan it again because you can't find your name and you're afraid you missed it? Cuz I do. I get so pumped when I see that list, then it all drops when I dont see my name. Then I just wait anpther few weeks and the process repeats.

Indeed! The best cure for this is to not read the promotion announcements threads until you get promoted to that rank; i.e. don't read the eG list until you're an eG.
Then you get to be pleasantly surprised when you get home from school/work and see 13 steam chat windows with "Grats on the G!" in them.

I was surprised every time. Its the best when they send you a message saying "We no longer allow whitesox fans to be in eGO." I knew something was up....
I cant say i have ever felt like that personally. I just figure its a matter of time as long as i stay active and just have a good time lol. I dont think i would have as much fun if i spent alot of time worrying about Purple in all her glory forgetting about me when promotion time comes around Your a cool dude cat and i am sure you'll get it sooner or later but until then just have fun!

took maybe 6 months or so for me to get promoted, which I had to pass up anyways for certain reasons. but maybe you can gauge how long it took me with how long you've been waiting.
I did the same as you when I was an =(e)=. When I got promoted to O, it caught me off guard completely lol, I was at a friends house and took his computer to check the site since it was the night of a meeting. I found myself on a promo list and got all excited. When I listened to the recorded meeting the next day I kind of laughed because I missed my name being announced

Aye, this ALWAYS happens to me. I have to check it like 10 times cause my in game name and my user name is different, yet I never see either... *sigh*

heh i was a eGO 1 year ago, before i left DoD and never came back
it took me 2 weeks to e to eg and never saw the eGO promotion cuz i got promoted while i was gone for like 5 months or 6 when i came back i was eGO in dod, lulz

I try not to think about it. Being promoted is nice, but playing on a server with good people is far better, imo. Being a G is like icing on the cake. Eventually people will get promoted, just depends how long. Just keep your spirits up and I'm sure one day your name would be there.

yeah i sometimes check, when i remember to. but it's definitely not the end of the world if u dont make it one month, just keep playing and hitting the forums and it'll happen.

ditto. Con told me both times I was promoted. I thought he was joking with me both times.

I used to feel the same way...hoping and praying i would be on the next promo list..each time i wasn't on it i felt let down...but then i realized, (with a little help, and advice from 2 very good friends of mine) that i need to do, is be myself, and play like i always do...and i people will notice...and that's all i did...i got very familiar with the rules and ways of eGO, and i followed them, i upheld them...and i just had a lot of fun...and the promos followed. That is the best advice i can pass along to you, is just be patient, and be yourself. Our number one reason we are all here is to have fun and get to know everyone in the family....don't let promotions stand in the way of that, they will come...
