instaling windows vista -.-

ok so recently i tried to repartition my HDD and ended up killing it, no i don't know how. so now i need to reinstall vista!!! ok fine i can do that, annoying as curse words but i can do that. so i get through a lot of it, all way to "completing installation" but ive been at that stem for a COUPLE HOURS and i know that the install isn't supposed to take much more then 30 min...help me :'(

im on my dads comp right now i but hes not home and is unreachable -.-

I'm going to take a WAG (wild ass guess) you have may have some unusual hardware and/or you bought this computer just when Vista was coming out. Either way, it looks like Vista is hanging on the point when it's loading software drivers for the various hardware components (it's stuck on the dots part, right?)

You need to check and then double check to ensure you have the latest and greatest hardware drivers for all of the components of your PC especially for any hard drive(s) you have installed. If you have a RAID system, this still applies.

You may need to upgrade/flash your BIOS of the motherboard if you are using a motherboard controlled RAID system.

If you aren't familiar with anything I'm talking about, I'd highly suggest waiting for your Dad or someone else to look at your PC. If you flash the BIOS incorrectly, you could endup with an expensive ornament for your tree.

yay it worked...ya is was that i didnt have the drivers for the HDD so much wasted time and thank you

In the future if you need be reinstalling, best course of action to ensure best possible install is,

Remove all ram but leave 2gb
Remove all PCi cards (not PCi Ex)

Trial and error has tought me for some reason vista rarly likes to install with 3gbs or higher and any PCi cards (like soundcard) interupts the install, don't know why but it installs faster and does'nt not stop responding. After install putt the ram and PCi cards back in and your good to go.

Note: Could just be my computer so I'm not sure if these steps will help you or not but its wroth a try if you need be to reinstall in the future.

Wow, I thought I was the only one. Yeah, empty is correct. Vista can't run well without two gigabytes.
