About map editing

Hey guys. I'm pretty sure it's possible to edit maps (I'm absolutely new to this)

I've tried various sites and I can't seem to find how to make a day map into night map... Could someone help me out a little?

This is also for the movie I am making.

Well you need to change the Lights and the Skybox

You first need to have source sdk and vmex installed. Also gcf scape. Run gcf scape and extract the desired map to your desired location (I use desktop). Then, run vmex and decompile it. The result will be a .vmf with the desired map in hammer format. Warning, though, most light entities and some brushwork will be corrupted so you may need to fix it.
