I was thinking of buying DoD, but I'm sort of broke. Maybe when I get my Google Adsense paycheck (yes, I'm twelve) I can pay. (I earn revenue on halochiefs.net.)

Anyway, before I spend $10.00, is the game any good?

I enjoy it a lot. Good WWII themed FPS game. Have to work as a team to win. Fairly authentic weaponry from the era. As fast paced as Team Fortress 2 and as Tactical as Counterstrike.

Small learning curve. Basically when I first got into it I didn't play any other STEAM FPS for quite a long time. So my opinion is probably biased, but you can't go wrong with this game in that biased opinion.

Since when was CS tactical? Ahaha.

Anyway, DoD is a great game with a great community. The plus side is eGO houses, which are a lot of fun.

Long story short...you join the DoD chapter of the clan and they organize into "houses." Each house is based on one map. It's kinda neat. DoD used to have such a large member base that this was the easiest way to keep track of everyone.

It still could have that many members by the way....I'm the wrong person to be talking about all of that truth be told.

Remeber to get DoD Source and not just DoD if you plan on joining a house and playing on eGO servers :)

DoD Source is pretty much the only Steam game I play... I own CS:S, TF2, CoD4, INS but hardly play any of them. I enjoy the WW2 theme and the overall gameplay.

If/when you get it, I'd say check out all the maps, and decide which is most fun to play, then join that house.

For me, flash is the cat's meow. So I joined Hell Hounds. If you like flash you're not limited to the Hounds, though. Reservoir Dogs shares flash with us.

It's truly worth it to shop around and decide which house is best for you. Checking their forums helps too.

Chuck Norris approves Reservoir Dogs what more reason do you need? lol but hey in the end its all up to you like desert rat said check out all the maps decide which ones more fun but don't forget just because you like a map doesn't mean you are limited to that house and it goes both ways just because you like a house does not mean you are limited to a map. You can join any house and play any map it just tends to happen that people join the house of the map the enjoy the most.

Chuck Norris jokes are really old, along with mudkip ones.

Anyway, I might buy it. Hopefully it goes on sale again for $5.00, if so I'll definitely grab it.

Agree.

10 bucks a bargin still though. aha. If you like it, the amount of time you spend will make that up quickly.

Resevoir Dogs can like sense when I try to recruit.

Yes, they do, so act fast! (:p)

Actually, no I'm not sure. I remember I had one for CS:S but it went a way after a while.
