Semi or full auto

When i use the m16 or m4,i go with full auto,semi auto just don't seem to kill anyone,especially when an enemy pops out in front of you.

I use full auto but if i want to be accurate i do bursts
the reason why i use semi is more for accuracy as in if you click the mouse three times your reticule will be in the same place but when you use full auto or even burst your basically spraying and preying. Idk maybe its just me but i feel much more accurate with semi I did some tests of cqb on the firing range custom map and I felt that i could hit the guy alot faster with out zooming in with semi auto because you can fire a lot faster

I use semi for all engagements until close quarters, then its to max rate of fire. As far as the squad automatic weapons go, those are always on short bursts even when putting down suppressive or supporting fire, I just unleash rapid bursts into a controlled area then I can be assured that I am allowing my maneuver team a clean avenue of approach without the undue risk of friendly fire. To me, Accuracy is everything.

Not really,i find the ak47 quite useful in some times.
Ak low kick
Back in an earlier version of INS the weapon kick was much higher. You didn't think about "rock 'n rolling" if you seriously wanted to hit anything. Now, the kick of a 7.62 is about the same as a 5.56. But I suppose this poll depends on your play style. See my signature and think about accuracy in those terms..

I pretty much never use semi-auto with either weapon. I like the 3 round burst from the M16, it has me as ready as possible for that guy that pops around a corner and at distance I usually get the guys, usually off that first bullet. With the M4 I tend to leave it on Auto but I still pretty much do a semi-auto, very short bursts of either 1 or 2 rounds.
I know it is and I use it I just said that i tend to use full auto more with the ak because of its low recoil

I never use the m16 sergeant weapon unless I happen to pick it up. The m4 however, I just control my fire myself. Long range i fire 1-3 bullets at someone. If you aim center mass, you will put 2 of the 3 shots in him. Only because you can turn someone's head red, and have them not die on you. Rarely will you see me full auto unless I am just firing cause I think im about to die. IE walk into a room, 5 enemies looking right at you...eep.

I always have my weapon set at the highest possible rate of fire.
There are two distinct advantages to higher concentration of fire.
1) Greater volume means greater suppression. This means in a shoot off between you and an enemy, you are much more likely to produce more suppression if you were in Auto/burst and he was in semi. This will drastically reduce his fire effect, and therefore improve your survivability.
2) Massive advantage in close quarters or when you need to engage at an angle you were not expecting. Surprise attacks on you need to be responded to instinctively, and most often you only have your first shot/burst. Unless you hit them in the head, you most likely will not kill your enemy on semi, and you can only hope your hit has distorted his shot so you can get another one off. On burst or auto, it is much more likely to get multiple hits on an enemy.
When on Auto, you can always control your fire into bursts. If you have trouble doing that, go play CS:S more, where controlling your rate of fire is essential. When on Semi-auto, you have to pray you will not be surprised because you will not have time to switch.

ok in cqb I do agree that full auto or 3 burst is better but for medium to longer range its not as affective with the 3 round burst you send 3 rounds into the exact same spot taking longer each shot but If you have 2 or 3 enemies spread out You can dispatch them faster while using less ammo with semi auto

Can't you just click one time using full auto also and have the same result as if it were semi auto? I think semi-auto is only necessary when you can't go full auto (e.g. with a M16 when it only has burst or semi auto) Always have it on full auto if possible (unless you're low on ammo) because you never know when some guy is gonna jump out of the bushes or come running around a corner.
