Warning account stealers will try anything

These hack crap stuff keeps growing! Only this month, i have gotten like 4 messages like this:
(Some Randomg Guy) : hi
(Some Randomg Guy) : REMOVED LINKS To get GTA4 and Audiosurf for FREE! (DO NOT CLICK THESE LINKS!!)

So, i clicked the link and gave him my backup acc. (There was no games on it, so dont start ''OH MY GOD!! WTF DID YOU DO THAT FOR!?!?!''), so he logged him self into that acc. and started asking me AGAIN! (I had added my self to its friends list) and send the same message.

If you ever get these questions, DO NOT ANSWER! Report to Steam/Steam User Forum

RESPAWN EDIT: Do not post these links in our forums. You don't want anybody else to get their account information phished, no do you?

Whoa there. Now that's really something. I probably wouldn't have noticed the (2). But then I wouldn't just give out my account like that either. Thanks for the heads up!

I have some choice words for Carne and anyone else who gets their account stolen. I've noticed most of the occurrences are completely voluntary, which just makes the people who have this happen to them seem even more idiotic. They should know better.
 
Thanks for warning me. Wait that account has an =(eGO)= thing on it. That means he's an admin. So it would most likely be a hacker or password stealer that took his account, right?

I think its a old eGO member who just hates our guts until he find the person he hates most (probibaly me :( )

here is what you can do to see if you know it is the real guy... ask them something that ONLY they would know.

Example- Lets say my brother, Puddinpop, asks me to use my account. Now normally i would just roll my chair out and scream down the hall why would he want my account, but im lazy so i would just ask him a simple question. "What was my teddy bears name?" If he doesnt answer Snuggles then he is either:
a) hacker
b) doesnt know his own brother
c) Currently a spy (i do frequent spy checks)
d) neither, he is in fact on the floor reading "My Little Pony" and is too full of himself
(normally d)

Anyways... the moral is... don't trust anyone... If they want to get on your account to play a game... guest pass them and tell them to get a job.

The guy didn`t hack my account, but he use(d) my name. But he has already hijacked other accounts, he told me yesterday he had around 20 or so. He claims he knows me IRL, which I really doubt, and said that I had been saying bad things about him(probably the only reason he came up with when I asked him why he did this). I really wanna get my hands on this person.
 
This is exact thing happened to me last month :O, the website looked just like the steam community website :O, except...it was a phishing website D:< Luckily I have all my cd keys/credit stashed away ;)

Just let me know and I'll help you. Just need a a few hours heads up. Need to get form Trondheim to where this person is located
 
I don't even trust anybody with my steam account, not even my family or myself.

Ok playing aside.. this was just fair warning to be careful, dont let your guard down and never lend your account to a friend, no matter how well you think you know them. Just to make sure you all understand (especially to those of you that didnt read all of it properly)

Carne didnt have his account hacked, this guy used his name and even copied his avatar to try to dupe people. He was just a copycat an imposter and he had a separate steam account.
