I've heard that Windows 7 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/) is going to be available for download tomorrow. Is anybody going to try it?

I probably would if I had an extra computer, but since I don't, I probably won't, just in case I mess it up :)

It looks pretty cool, and it supposedly runs XP and Vista programs, and is a lot faster than Vista. If you click the "What's New" tab, you can see some of the new stuff that's in it. One bad thing, the taskbar looks more similar to a Mac... I hope that's customizable...

After you get it and mess with it, would you mind letting the rest of us know how you like it?

I've just heard it will not work for XP Users it will only work if you have vista SP1

You actually need to have a Windows Vista SP1 running that you can upgrade with the Windows 7 beta.
You cannot upgrade XP or do a clean install with this release of Windows 7 beta.
Microsoft gives you though the choice of downloading the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of Windows 7.

I'll be loading this on one of my backup machines. I don't dare put it on my main one. haha.

I guess it couldn't be much worse then Vista..... *jumping under my desk to avoid the lightening bolts*

I plan to wait and see what people think before I try it, I still run XP. lol

they never pulled the plug. it works now and i have it...they just had to fix servers

I'm running it now. 64 bit version.
Looks like Vista, for the most part.
The taskbar is substantially different.
It does have DX11.
The Nvidia drivers are 179 series. :( Windows Update reported an error installing nvidia drivers, but they seem to work fine.
A clean boot idling with no programs running uses about 950Mb of RAM.
Steam runs like normal. Will update as soon as TF2 gets downloaded.EDIT: steam does not work once all my games are installed...
