Noob Friendly Servers?

I was looking at the games I had under "Steam Games" and after a year of having it, I discovered that I have DoD

Which server(s) would be the most noob friendly, as it will be my first time playing.

And whats the difference between DoD, and DoD:S...do we have servers for both?

We have DoD Source servers only, as far as servers for original DoD I dont have the slightest idea haha.

There is a pretty big difference between the two, just like CS 1.6 to CSS.

Try them all out they are all different, They each have good and bad things about them.

As far as your question goes try flash, it is my favorite and if i see you playing i could always help you out if needed.

As for the eGO servers, any of them are "noob friendly", as the level of play on them doesn't come to that of more competetive places... you'll be absolutely fine.

As to the maps themselves, try them all.... it's not too hard to learn them. It'll take you perhaps 20-30 minutes per map to learn the layout and general flow well enough to play easily.

I started with Kalt... Ava and donnar are weird and complex so you wont want to start there...

kalt and flash are easy to learn!!!

he said it right! Kalt is more action and less camping. The match can change easily and you can go from offense to defense fast (to get a feel for both) You might want to start with the 2nd player option (has a Thomson, easy to handle and kill with) and then move up from there! Good luck!

servers as in maps...or just servers...?...if maps...i would say avalanche and flash

Don't worry about the noob thing, we all were at some point and I'm sure there are plenty of people around to help you out (including yours truly).

I personally prefer DoD 1.3 to Source. I just think it's more fun. Source was made to be too much like CSS and if I wanted that kind of game play (not exactly the same but too similar for my liking) I'd just play CSS. That being said if you are pretty good at CSS you shouldn't have much trouble adapting to DoD Source. The biggest adjustment is with aiming. I've been playing both for years and I'll be damned if I can hit anything in CSS if I've been playing a lot of DoDS and vice-versa. That being said, give the game a chance. I sincerely hope you aren't the sort that frustrates easily (from dying for example) be cause you will die A LOT at first. Don't be surprised if you are 1:10 k:d or worse the first few times.

Thanks. Firstly, I know that the eGO community is very respectful to new players and Im not worried about sucking a bit
~And Sven, I am very used to dieing a lot in CSS so nothing new here

I was just wondering what the easiest maps to learn were and from the looks of it, I'll try out flash and kalt. I hope I can learn fast and start playing well, and enjoy the game to its fullest.
