ok so i am trying to play stalker clear sky on my computer. I am running windows 7. It works fine when I boot up into vista, but I would like for it to run in windows 7 so i dont have to reboot when i want to play.

Whenever i try to run it in windows 7 it tells me to insert the dvd, even tho it is in my drive.

And the copy i have is 100 percent legit so dont tell me i shouldnt have torrented it. I bought it off amazon.

I have it fully patched to 1.0008(1.5.08). If anyone has an idea for a fix or a link to a crack it would be much appreciated. thank you

Could be an issue with their drm/cd check protection not being ready for windows 7 yet... I hope this doesn't become a huge issue now that everyone is using crazy versions of drm.

yeah im depatching to 1.5.07 after i figured this out, testing it soon hope this works, thanks guys.

alright turns out im SoL for now.

Heres the reason.

Clear Sky(the US retair version) uses a security program called Tages, and as of now Tages does not support windows 7. So any game bought from a retail store will not work on windows 7 if it uses Tages security to verify the DVD/CD.

This includes

-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky

-X3:Terran Conflict

Yeah, Tages is just about the only thing out there worse than Securom. In fact, I think it's a strong contender to usurp Star Forces spot at no. 1.

yeah tages got some bad press when their servers were down, leaving X3 people offline for 3 days. Now this...

Well windows 7 is a beta... I don't blame them for not supporting it.

Now as far as their drm being utter crap... well that's obvious.
