TF2 & Ventrillo

I've read in some of the forums about being in Ventrillo while gaming. How is this done?? Do I log into the Edgegamers channel first and then launch TF2, or what?

yeah you would log into the vent server first and then start tf2 if you wanted or the other way around.

Should make sure push to talk is on and not bound to your tf2 talk key

What?....You just launch Ventrillo, which you have to download if you haven't done so, then join a tf2 channel or w/e channel you prefer. Then start up tf2 =x....you can do it the other way around you can start up tf2, minimize your game and start up ventrillo...

I already have vent downloaded and installed. I've been to a couple meetings already. I just didn't know how to do it.

Do I bind the talk key to my TF2 talk key, or no?

Also, what is the purpose of being in vent while in game?

You do not have to be in vent while in game. Its just a fun place to hang out and talk to people whatever they are doing at the time. I usually hop on vent if I am just surfing the net, checking e-mail, or playing TF2.

I would suggest choosing another key other than your TF2 talk key.

NO! DO NOT BIND THE SAME KEY TO YOUR TF2 KEY ZOMG!~ *SLAP* BAD BAD! BAD! NO NO! *takes a spray bottle and sprays water in Muscles face* lol <3. Bind the ventrilo key to what feels comftorable to you, I use V for ventrillo and K for tf2 :d.

Anyways, the benefits you would gain from venting would be you can talk to your teammates who are still alive while you are dead so you can tell them who's the spy, where's the sentry, where you dropped the intell, if the medic has an uber, etc. BUUUUT 1st. Doing that in a pub is lame , 2nd. No one does that in eGO since the tf2 channel is always empty D:< plus its lame :x it's ghosting T.T
