im running a intel core duo 2 e6600 at 2.4 G at stock settings. how would i go about overclocking my processor and what would be a good speed?

i have the same hsf as citizen soldier & am in the process of oc my cpu as well. i have an e6750 w/ stock setting of 2.66 ghz. im gonna try for 3.2 or 3.4 ghz.

You should be able to unlink your RAM (if your bios lets you), and bump your FSB up to 333, which would put you at 3Ghz. I'm running a q6600 and that's what I do. It's nice and easy because it's a "stock" FSB speed.

to get a good OC i would recommend Ultra 120 aka TRUE, Core contact freezer, S1283. I spend most of my time on OCN studying XD

For the best overclock, you're right. However, since he's just looking to overclock, his current HSF (Arctic Freezer 7 Pro) is just fine. He doesn't need to dive into the pool before he even learns to swim. ;)
