Steam Problems

So Steam is killing me.

I can't get in to play my Ins

When I launch steam I get a window that says it's updating. It never does and then says I'm not connected to the internets. Obviously I am - I check that.

I've been to steam's support page and it's saying firewall error is possible. I've turned it off and still have the same prob. I've run through each of the steps they suggest to no avail.

Anyone else out there encounter this or have an idea?

Uninstall Steam and then reinstall. If that does not work you will have to reinstall windows. i know that is painfull but it is worth it to get your game to work.

I updated in the tech thread but thought I'd put it here as well.

It was a firmware update on my modem so I have to change the firewall on the modem - not on Vista.

Sheesh.
