I was just wondering (and i know this might be a little late) but could there be an option to vote for areana maps of the Valve Maps server? I mean they are made by Valve so why aren't they on there?

We had an arena server for a while. Problem was that it was very difficult to keep it full.

Empty servers = waste of money

Full servers = more players = more members = more admins = more exposure for sponsors = more good stuff to get for free = happy Jubei

I think Jubei said it well. with all the equals aside, the point is: a lot of people (me included) do not like arena gameplay for TF2. and if there were enough votes for an arena map, I bet you a lot of people would leave, saying something about ruining game play, or, keep it in CSS, or something along those lines.

Short answer: not while I'm alive.

Long answer: Putting arena maps on would kill the server. The arena game type is entirely incompatible with normal TF2. IMHO, arena and normal TF2 are different mindsets, and arena is much more competitive. In a normal game, I'm much more likely to charge a heavy with a kukri, which I find a fun thing to do sometimes than if I'm playing arena, where if I die, I don't get to play for a few minutes.

So, when an arena map comes up, a lot of players are going to leave. Even if they are replaced by players who love arena fairly quickly, chances are those old players aren't going to come back in an hour when the next map is on. Hypothetically, even if the server were to stay nearly full, it would harm the sort of server community that I'm really starting to see develop on Valve Maps. We get the same people in there every night and they are starting to get to know each other and make some friendships, and adding arena maps to the rotation would largely destroy what so many people have helped create over the past months.

aH cmon im still waiting for my arena server to come back maybe a little comprehension toward us and you might just like it!, im getting tired of the ussual easy wins on arena pubs, i wanna see what ego does in an arena fight!

also on the pub i go i always see at least 1 eGO member
