I have a logitech headset and I accidentally knocked it off of my desk today.

My left ...speaker popped out so I popped it back in. It was working again but a small circular plastic ring was placed the wrong way. I decided to force my left speaker open again to fix the problem. Apparently I used to much force because when the left speaker came off, so did the end of the wire. I put the plastic ring back in place and I just shoved the wire back into the left speaker. Now I only get sound from my right speaker. The end of the wire is touching the metal inside the headset but I am still not receiving any sound. Any idea on what I should do?

:(

I don't need duct tape lol, I popped it back inside the socket. Even though the metal tip of the wire is touching the metal plate of the speaker, I am still getting no sound. >.<

I am a little confused by your description. Pictures would help out a lot. From the sounds of it though, this should be a pretty easy fix.

on a side note, 1-10, how electrically inclined are you?

Lookin forward to helping :)

Here are the pics with descriptions. I guess I'm a 2(with 10 being very knowledgeable) ? All I know about electricity is +/- and ac/dc.

Nice Pictures!

I think the first thing you should do is some testing. Rather than assembling the headset try just touching the wire to the metal plate and see if you get any sound out of the speaker. Make sure it is plugged in and there is sound coming out of the other speaker while you are doing this.

If you get sound, then that is awesome and all you have to do is solder the wire back onto the plate. If you don't get any sound then you may have to disassemble the headphone and try to find out where the wire actually does connect.

My gut feeling tells me that the metal plate is not where the wire was connected....

Let me know what you find out!!

Hmm, it might not be touching the metal plate after all. I think that I may have ripped the wire from the...soldering. D: I don't know how to solder too. =x I might just drop by circuit city and find myself a new headset. Thanks for the help anyway! :]

lol alright, that will work too....its always fun picking out a new headset :)

i just gots me a plantronics headset from circuit city for 25 bucks not a bad deal. i still miss my surround sound one tho
