First and foremost. The M4 aimpoint is your friend. Accurate, powerful, reliable. This one weapon is the most wanted out of all the weapons in the game. If you see this weapon and you are rifleman, go for it. However do not, I repeat, DO NOT run into the middle of the street to grab it. That weapon will do you no good if you die 3 seconds after grabbing it. Might as well be walking backwards down the street jumping up and down. Also when using this weapon, full auto is for close quarters only. At 150-200 yards you MIGHT hit 1 bullet on a target with a 30 round magazine. Or you can control your fire and hit all of them...your call.
Grenades, this goes for insurgents too, grenades are not to be thrown down the street on almaaden. They are not to be thrown onto the point your teammates are running to, and they are most certainly not a way to commit jihaad on either team. What they are, are round balls of exploding death. You throw them and 1 of 2 things will happen. The enemy will see them, run out of the cover and you shoot them. Or they wont see them, and they turn into a cloud of red mist. Either way you win.
Grenadier. Your main weapon is the M16. Your 203 is there to kill people behind cover. Using it for anything else will get you killed.
Smoke grenades, these are mobile cover. Let me clear this up for you. They conceal your position. If the enemy decides to fire into the smoke, it will not protect you. Throwing smoke ahead of you only reveals your general location. Smoking objectives will cause 1 thing and 1 thing only to happen. R P G. When you smoke an objective while capping it, you conceal your location. But you pretty much guarantee grenades and/or rockets to fly into the smoke. Whats worse, you cant see the nades, so you die and the point doesnt get capped. Smoke around the objective, or doorways that the enemy likes to come out of.
Your sidearm. This weapon is pretty weak, but very accurate. It is entirely possible to kill people in this game at 500+ yards with the pistol. However I would not suggest doing this. This weapon is what you pull out whenever you run out of ammo and do not have time to reload.
Marksmen. You are not a sniper. You are a marksmen. There is a difference. Your job is to move with your team, identify enemy locations, and take out targets of opportunity, and high threat targets. IE RPGs.
For all marines there is one order that prevails above all else. R U S H in all push maps, ALL PUSH MAPS, if you do not control alpha within the first 2 minutes. You WILL lose that map. Move up and take the point before the insurgents can set up a defense. In some maps this means B also.
Stay together. It is very hard to rambo in this game, and impossible to rambo perfectly. Stay with your squad, move up, and take the points. If someone in your squad dies, do not turn and look at him. Get to cover and find something to shoot at that isnt your team. Which brings me to my next topic.
Spread out. Never, ever, EVER be so close to your teammates that 1 explosive will kill all of you. This includes capturing the objectives. IF 8 of you are in a tiny cap square IE C on sinjar, you are an RPGs dream come true. Just ask kingback. If large number of you are on a cap, leave 2 there and the rest of you establish a perimeter. I guarantee you that you will capture a point every time if you have the immediate area secure. As opposed to hiding in the corner praying you see them first.
Communication. This is important. Tell your teammates where the enemy is. This does not mean "There is an enemy over there." It means give clear detailed spots.
One thing above all else to remember. This is a video game. Not the real thing. Those bullets will not come through your screen and kill you. So don't cower behind the wall, get out and move your butt to the objectives.
