I bought this one a few years ago:

It still works awesome. I don't really use the "feedback" option - you can disable that, but the thing I like best is that it completely sits around the ears, not on top of them. My old headset was great but my ears would get sore after a few hours. Not a problem with the AudioFX headset. And mine has held up for 2 years, so it's durable.
Don't ever by Altec Lansing headsets....they suck.

As you can see from the site, it goes for over $100, but I got it @ a great deal on ebay, pretty much cause it didnt have the box/plastic around it, which didnt matter to me. I got mine for over half off, it was def a great find. Like the previous poster, mind easily fits around my ears, not on them. My previous plantronics headset would fit on my ears, which would cause discomfort after a few hours of playing. Sometimes I forget that im wearing it, but thats just how great they are. At first, when I got it, I laughed because they looked like pilot headphones, but since then ive gotten used to the shape, & theyve been good to me ever since. I sometimes have issues w/ the mic, but thats ventrilo related. An interesting option that they created was that you could use the headset on a usb port, but since all of mine are filled, & I have a sound card, its better to use the sound card. I believe that I have posted pics with me wearing this headset, but if not, I can repost them.

I've owned this headset for roughly a month now, and I have to say, it's quite possibly one of the best headsets I've ever owned. I had generally been sticking with USB headsets for a while now, and when I was browsing Turtle Beach's website, these caught my eye. I was leery about them at first, but they have exceeded all my expectations and more. It stands up to the abuse that many of my peripherals take, plus some. It fits perfectly on my head and ears, which can be an issue at times as I have a larger head. The auto-adjusting feels "just right" and enhances the comfort of the headset itself. I honestly forget I'm wearing these a lot. The sound quality is excellent as is the mic quality. I've never had anyone complain about the way I sound, and when I listen to a program echo back my voice it's crystal clear. Quality Build, Quality Sound, Awesome Price. This is not a headset to pass up.

i really want some astro's but here is what i have,
Tritton ax pro, they are pretty good, comes with a box that alllows you to plug into an optical port, mic is on a completely different channel allowing you to control voice chat independently, mic is detachable, 4 speakers in each ear and inline volume control of each channel, the box it comes with allows you to adjust surround and central sound delay for more realistic surround. i dont know what more to say about them they sound really good through optical, thats the only reason i didnt go with turtle beach is because i cant see how you can have surround sound through usb or the 3.5 mm jacks, these headphones also come with those and they dont sound nearly as good as the optical does.

Just a Note Here: Before I purchased this headset, I had 2 Logitech headsets prior. They were both JUNK and both did not last longer than 8 months total. The second headset didn't even last 2 months before starting to fail!
Ok... I had a problem before I bought this, which was I didn't see how this headset could possibly be worth the 70 dollars that I spent. IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. This bad boy is equip with 5.1 Surround Sound, allowing high quality in a small package. Each ear piece has 3 speakers in them, all amplified from the USB amplifier, allowing volume adjustment for every speaker.
Not only is the quality amazing, but it is very comfortable when placed upon my head. Lastly, it has a quick disconnection of the headset and also the microphone, if you do not want it in your way while listening to music. Which btw, the microphone quality is superb, matching the high quality of the speakers.
I HIGHLY recommend this headset to anyone looking for a replacement! (make sure you have 5.1 surround sound before purchasing!)

Since I'm the only one to be posting a review for this specific headset, I'll make it "advertising worthy" 
...
Headset: Turtle Beach Ear Force AK-R8
I would consider this headset a complete package. The 5.1 surround sound is offered from 8 speakers with dual sub woofers, powered by a multi-amplifier USB sound card enhanced with digital signal processing. The tuning on this creates opportunities to use this outside of gaming as well, such as music, tv, and movies that can be pre-tuned to your preferences.
For gaming, I've never heard such great quality and precision. You can hear footsteps easily and make key decisions, giving you quite the advantage. Also with the advanced audio, you can talk with others and always hear them, even when you're talking.
This headset is well worth the price of $150 and I would gladly recommend this to anyone who's interested or needing a path to be shown. I've owned this headset for about a year and a half and it has held up extremely well, this doesn't simply randomly break like many others.

I had a Steelsound 5H V2 headset. I got it really cheaply when they introduced it on woot.com a few years ago. Very comfortable, sounded good, and my favorite mic so far - it easily retracted, and was fully flexible so I could find the perfect spot where people wouldn't hear me breathing, but I wouldn't see the mic. Unfortunately, they were also very fragile. One day I took them off my head (and I treat my equipment well), and they broke in half in my hands. I managed to get Steelsound on the phone, but since they were out of warranty, there wasn't anything they would do. No repair, or replacement parts. I'd managed to disassemble the headsets and isolate the broken part, but no go. And it was a fragile piece of plastic, with no room for extra support.

I just bought a Turtle Beach Ear Force X-52 the other day. 2 days into using it, I'm blown away! The 5.1 surround sound is incredibly realistic. The headset, unlike my old one that hurt my ears to use, is so comfortable that for can barely feel it on your head! The features are amazing, and it take a couple pages to describe them and say how amazing they are. This is one of the best headsets for the price you can get. I wanted to get the Ear Force HPA-2, but money's a little tight for a headset with those extra features. My parents were like "Whoa! $70 for a headset?!?" I tell you, it is more than worth it. I would pay $150 for a headset of this quality! Now I know where my enemies are positioned, in-game, have awesome music sound quality out of game, and talk in Ventrilo with my friends, without losing one bit of sound quality on any aspect! I would reccomend this headset to anyone looking to get better at symetrical warfare games such as Counter-Strike Source, and Team Fortress 2. This headset is also excellent for competitions. I cannot wait to get scrimming with this headset!
I bought a Logitech gaming headset, it works great but after a while it starts to hurt your ears. If you like one to two hour gaming this good headset but if you like five to six this headset will start to hurt your ears. I believe the sound quality from the mic is a little shaky but people can tell what your saying.

My Headset: Turtle Beach HPA2
Length of Ownership: About 3 months
My last headset broke (earpiece assembly detached from the headset) so I wanted something with solid construction. The turtle Beach HPA2 has more than satisfied that need; these things are solid (we're talking metal) sturdy, the cord is both thick and long, and the in-line volume controller is also very well-built.
The 5.1 surround sound is handled by (4) 3.5mm jacks (Center/Sub, Mic, Front, Surround) that plug directly into your soundcard.
The Noise-Canceling Mic is flexible and removable; perfect for when you wanna eat and game at the same time.
Just wanted to give a long(er)-term update on my headest:
Still awesomely comfortable. I can wear these for hours without annoying discomfort around the ears. They stay in place on my head without feeling like an eagle is griping my ears.
The sound is as good as ever. Because these are 5.1's, and have to be plugged into the back of my PC, it does make it difficult when I want to take them with me anywhere (thankfully not that often though). Pull out the PC, unplug my speakers from the pass-through adapter, unplug the (4) headset connectors from the PC, plug my speakers directly into the PC, and do the reverse when I get back. It's a mild annoyance, but worth it to have great sound.
The headset volume controller does have a bright blue LED, which I covered with a piece of Ducttape (I know when it's on thank-you, do not need an LED to tell me that!)
Usually a headset last me maybe a couple of months; a wire breaks, a connector falls off, something causes them to not function properly anymore and I have to shop for a new pair. So far the Turtle Beach HPA2's are holding up remarkably well, and I couldn't be happier with them.

I bought a Turtle Beach X1 for Xbox live and PC gaming. I'd have to say it's a pretty good headset for it's price. The sound is amazing in it. If your doing online competitive gaming or just casually playing online or offline at late night or anything, the X1 is good to have.

I'm using a Turtle Beach Ear Force X52, Refurbished, and my Turtle Beach Riviera 5.1 Digital PCI Sound Card, and I have to say, it's beyond words. Like when I listen to my music, the song suddenly became a masterpiece. And when I'm gaming, the explosions in-game sound so awesome and realistic, it's like thunder. In our World at War server, I could hear the enemy and footsteps so clear, it's like I'm there. Even before I got my video card, the headset really gave me an edge to my gameplay. All I got to say is, Turtle Beach- all the way.
