If you happen to be broke and or on a budget the Logitech gaming one arent that bad in a pinch, they work transmit sound clearly and are around 20-25..however downside..its tad bit uncomfortable

Razer Barracuda review
The exact thing happened to mine. And its not plastic, its metal. Razer products are very poorly built and built with poor materials. I spent 130 dollars of my hard earned cash on this headset.
First off, the screw that holds in the right earpiece unscrews itself and the right earpiece falls off. There is also a bolt inside the earpiece that the screw screws into. Well it is a huge pain to try and fix.
Second, the microphone is very, VERY, short. It comes about halfway up my cheek. IF any of you have heard me in ventrilo, thats why I was so quiet. I would end up trying to pull the mic forward and it would be halfway off my ear.
Thirdly, I was using it one night and I took it off to take a break. When I came back and picked it up to resume gaming, the left earpiece snapped off. Now, Razer must have used a cheap metal, and left that area too thin because I was being gently with it.
And by the time it broke for good, it was 6 months out of warranty.
I advise every one against razer products, except their mice. I havent heard of problems with them. I've had problems with every razer product i've ever owned. 2 keyboards and 1 headset.

I'm looking at these currently. After I sell my current Turtle Beach AK-R8 headset that I posted a review on earlier...
I would love to see your review. I know Sennheiser is EXCELLENT and I'm very likely going to be putting the $$$ in their direction. I love my Turtle Beach headset a lot... Used it for almost 2 years or something... but it doesn't work with 64 bit OS! :chair:

I've owned the PC 350 for some time and think they are worth the $148 price-tag on Amazon, but only as a gaming headset. Audio quality pales in comparison to the HD 555. If you can afford it, take a look at the beyerdynamic MMX 300, if I were to do my headset purchase over again I'd snag those. Also comfort-wise, the PC 350 get very hot and uncomfortable after extensive use, the velour pads on the HD 555/MMX 300 feel so much better.

Plus, I've never even heard of the brand. I wouldn't spend my $$$, especially that much... on a brand I've never even heard of.
I've seen the 555's ... I think I'd get the PC350 anyways though. Price does make a biggie for me. I'd rather put more $$ into my car...

Most people haven't heard of beyerdynamic in the states, it's an audiophile brand out of Germany (similar to Sennheiser w/o all the hype). I recommend you look at some reviews on head-fi.org and around google of the PC 350 before you buy.

When I buy a new rig, I'm getting a new headset, I don't need a new headset yet.

I've got to say that I absolutely love the Turtle Beach HPA2 Headset. After upgrading from the HPA, you really appreciate the improvements. The Vinyl pads have been replaced with a very plush cloth. Also, although it may seem minor, they added a tab to the mic input and the microphone so that you don't accidentally cause it to completely swivel backwards.
Unfortunately, I need to get my desktop up here, because the headset requires a 5.1 Sound Card to take advantage of all the speakers in this beast, and sadly my Laptop only has a 2 channel.
So until I get my headset, I'm going to stick with my Plantronics Gamecom Headset. It's microphone boom is permanently attached, and swivels inside the headset, when you don't want it. It is also very flexible, allowing you to bend it to fit your face. Sadly, it doesn't come close to adding up to the 5.1 fury of the HPA2.
In my opinion, If you're on a budget, the HPA2 is definitely worth the $100 =D

Product Overview: The Tritton AX 51 Pro is a headset with a quick kicking 5.1 surround sound speaker setup right in the earpieces. It's designed with gaming in mind, but performs above expectations in other capacities as well. The design is aesthetically solid, and the headset itself if physically solid as well.
Breakdown
Setup: Here is a quick pro-tip for anyone purchasing this headset. It needs it's own power supply. That's how boss this headset is, right out of the box. Keep this in mind however, because if you fail to plug it in, you will sit reading the instruction manual for a stretch of time before you finally figure out why you cant hear anything. I did this. As long as your sound card or motherboard is color coded, you will have no problem matching up the correct plugs with the correct ports.
Summary: Make sure you plug it into a power source. Labeling the plugs with their corresponding port would make this a perfect score. 4.5/5.0

Gaming: Ok. The bread and butter of the Tritton AX 51 Pro. I have to say, my situational awareness is much higher now, thanks to the top quality surround sound I am getting in game. The details range from the major (explosion distance and magnitude [TF2; DoD:S]) to the minute (decloaking spies, footsteps [TF2]). I will say, even without a soundcard, I am still picking up on these details and realizing that the headset is actually helping me to play better on a larger and more recognizable scale.
Summary: "How the hell did you hear me uncloak?!" 5.0/5.0

Audio (Non-Gaming): I do a lot of mixing and audio creation in my free time, and for that I have a pretty expensive set of studio headphones. While I wouldn't say these Tritton phones are as good or better, they are surprisingly adept at reproducing sounds I make, and for that I would say that the crossover capability that these headphones offer is pretty substantial. For just listening to music, though, they are incredible. The bass is kicking, the midrange is crystal, and the trebles sustain.
Summary: Ok, not great, but obviously designed for gaming. 4.0/5.0

Hardware: On most PC gaming headsets there is a control console built right into the cable, near to the earpieces, so you can change volume or mute your mic on the fly. This headset not only has that, but it allows you to edit the volume of each of four levels: Front, rear, center, and sub. This allows you to tweak just how you hear what you hear, making the overall ability to customize a rich experience. However, this console gets pretty warm, and it is situated on the cables at a length in which it sits right in your lap. This can get uncomfortable at times. In addition, the length of the cables in their entirety is a little too long, and I find myself running over the cable with my roll-y chair. The rubber coating on the cable is think and resistant, but I don't want to have to buy another set just because I cant seem to keep the wires off the floor. The earpieces and headband are padded and come with swappable leather fittings. I stuck with the original, because they were softer and fit better on my abnormally good looking skull.
Summary: Hot features (literally), length is unquestionable but problematic, fits well where it needs to. 4.25/5.0

Overall: I really like this headset. It's comfortable, easy to use, and provides an enhanced gaming experience. Could use a few minor adjustments, but this set is entirely worth getting right now.

Razer - Carcharias Gaming Headset
Just bought this at BestBuy for 80 bucks.

My review: 2/10 - I don't give it a 1/10 because it's very comfortable.
Worst purchase I've made when it comes to computer stuff. The 10 dollar headset I bought on amazon sound MUCH better and the mic actually works. I just returned this to Best Buy a few hours ago.
Just bought this at BestBuy for 80 bucks.
Pros:
- Sound is great. Surround sound-ish when it comes to gaming
- Cord is made of stretchy material so it won't be easy breaking the cord.
Cons:
- Mic is AWFUL. I have to scream to be barely audible.
- The mic itself is way too far away from the mouth.
- No bass. Music sounds awful.
- It's not quiet for people who aren't wearing the headset. When I'm playing games and using this headset my girlfriend in the other room can hear the headset.
My review: 2/10 - I don't give it a 1/10 because it's very comfortable.

Logitech g35 headsets!
A few weeks ago I got my Logitech G35 for my birthday. As I went into best buy, I was so excited. There they were, right in front of me .: LOGITECH G35 7.1 GAMING HEADSETS :. My parents purchased them for me. As soon as I got home, I popped in the disk, put those headphones on, and played Killing Floor, and Team Fortress 2. Right away I saw a difference in my skill. I easily knew where zombies, spies, and pyros were. If a gunshot was made in the distant, I knew which way to go.
The voice changer is also very interesting. I like messing around with my friends putting on the alien voice and such.
Comfort is another important factor to me, and that was one of the first things I noticed. They were very comfortable, the material on your ears is like a smooth leather sort of material. You have 3 different sized and shaped headbands too, that go on the top. I currently use the medium once, since the small one is too small and the big one is too big
but the medium one is JUST RIGHT 
.
The annoying things are the buttons on the side. You can only bind them to a few things, such as opening ventrilo, or opening windows media player. I have them all set to windows media player. Sometimes I go to change the volume by using the side of my headsets, and accidentaly hit the windows media player. If I'm in a game this can be annoying, because either my game will minimize, or it'll lag for a few seconds. This is the only bad part about it.
The mic is nice, my voice is extremely clear. No static, no background noise whatsoever. Its also made of rubber until the tip, so you can easily bend it. It's also unbreakable, as far as I have seen. It's very nice.
I do experience some discomfort, but that's normal, since it only occurs after 3 hours of gameplay. Overall, this is one of the best headsets I've ever had. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a nice pair of 7.1's and loves awesome features.

Oh, btw I had a few razer headsets before. They all broke after 1 month. In one, the mic broke. In one the sound was half way muted, and I had to turn my volume all the way up just to get it on low volume for my headsets. I took good care of those, so it wasn't my fault. I had about 4 razer headsets, and I would never wanna have one of them again in all my life. Completely terrible in my opinion. Don't get mad at me if you don't agree, its just my opinion.
