Hmmm....personally I think its rude overall. I doubt the driver would appreciate having to
drive a long distance without talking, especially with his GF.

The real trick folks, is to make sure your radio is turned up at about 60%.. Then, if their phone DOES ring, you turn it up to around the 70%ish mark.. They'll get the idea real fast. Works on my girlfriend whenever she's in the car. Generally then it's around 30-40%, but whenever she gets increasingly annoying, it hits 80% VERY fast.

This works even better when you have volume control buttons on your steering wheel, because it's even less obvious what you're doing.

Possibly Ludacris or Chamillionaire... But Lil Jon works the best, he's always yelling in his songs... Although they are crunk and not hip-hop.

A loud "WHAT?" will do the trick

Yeah, I would say it depends on how important the phone call is, and how annoying the person is on the phone.

I know people that are fine to talk to in person, but they yell in to the phone.

I find it rude when you are hanging out with a friend and you're driving to wherever you're going (mall, lunch, ect.) and they talk on the phone the whole time you're in the car. But I do agree that if it is a parent, teacher, doctor or someone with an important question or who they haven't talked to in a very long time it's okay and I wouldn't be too upset about it but not for the entire car ride. I don't think it's okay for someone to talk the entire time on a 15+ mintue car ride. They can always call the person back.

depends on the phone call, the whole roommate turning down YOUR radio so he can have the same convo = turn radio back up after the first minute. (minute so he can atleast say bye honey i'm in my roomies car who is nice enough to give me a ride. if it's important i'd give a couple mins but any longer and my tunes go up to MY volume.

note: time adjustments are made if on freeway. min for buddy and girlfriend = 15-20secs, important = 1 min. i hate the sound of being on the freeway without tunes, and hearing someone yapping on the phone.

It's easy to fix, next time you're with him/her and the person continues to talk on the phone stop the car open the door shove them out drive away. i've yet to have someone talk on the phone again in my car.

Passenger cell phone use is rude when...

1 -The passenger asks you for a ride and uses his/her cell phone to make an unimportant call and talks through the entire ride.
2 -When the passenger interrupts you to make a call non-related to the subject you were talking about.
3 -Same as 1 but instead uses your phone.
4 -The passenger takes out his/her car charger and charges his/her phone in your car and makes a non-important call.
