Need help

Hey guys.
I got a little problem here.
I can't get the console to pop up. I simply don't got a (~) button. Maybe it's because i have a Danish keybord, but i don't know.
Can you change the console button, or anything like that.
I have enabled it.
Hope someone would help me thanks.

When you load DOD, there's an Options link that you can click on. In there, you can adjust your keyboard settings. If there isn't an option for toggling the console, you may have to edit your config file manually.

To do that, go to the directory that your config is in. For me, it's:

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\MYSTEAMLOGIN\day of defeat source\dod\cfg

There you will find a file named "config.cfg" Open this file with a simple text program like notepad. Press "CTRL F" to bring up the "Find" window. Search for "console" (without the "quotation" marks). Examine the file to see what key is the console toggle is currently assigned to. Change that key, (likely the tilde (~) key) to whatever you want to use to toggle your console. Save the file with the same name and close it.

If this doesn't work, post back.

If it doesn't work, or if you can't figure it out, you can copy the contents of your config.cfg file and paste it to me in a private message. Another guy just did that, and he had some strange "½" key bound to his console. No wonder he couldn't open it.

Do you see that you have the ` key bound to console? You need to change that to the key that you want to use for console. The default is ~ , which is the same key used with the SHIFT function.

You are welcome. Once you have your config set up the way you want it, it's wise to make a copy of it. That way, if something in your config changes, you can replace it with a copy that you know works.
