replacing melee weapon would make engie useless as they could not build anything... am i wrong here
If your level 1 sentry kills an enemy while you wear this manly looking device, ding! 25 metal!
Level 2? 50!
Level 3? 75 metal!
The demo drinks his scrumpy, can't imagine there'd be a problem with the beer. And the Spy smokes; his disguise kit is a cigarette case!
Drinking beer shouldn't be a problem; like I said, it's in Meet teh Engie
Pistol replacement; point the laser and it aims at it, pull the trigger and it shoots things. AWESOMEZOR.
IN OTHER NEWS: Beverage concessions seems to be exactly what the Engineer is for; now he's a mobile dispenser! Maybe when he gives you a bottle, you have a choice: drink it for health, or drop it for ammoWhy not? Bats give you bullets.
Overpowered? He loses his pistol and only gets six brewskies. Sounds like a fair trade, for an Engie to run some health forward to people who are out of range of his dispenser.
Wrench replacement: the Spanner
This baby makes everything possible. It swings faster than the wrench (a bit slower than the bat, maybe?) but also deals less damage. Faster upgrading!
This is for the supportive engies who want to defend an important point and don't want to whack spies and other pesky enemies with the wrench.

One idea I liked was an impact wrench:
![]()
+50% Building speed
+33% Repair speed
-33% Damage
Torque wrench, air gun, rattle wrench, whatever you call it, that bad boy is OBVIOUSLY all about building things and less about hitting things, whereas any kind of spanner, wrench, lever, can obviously be used to whack spahs.

I'm pretty sure if you whacked someone with that thing in the picture it'd do a lot of damage...lol.

I only have one this to point out, this impact wrench would be completely useless without an aircompressor. I know it's still a video game, but maybe we can make it a little more realistic?
And how the heck does a Medigun work?

Very true. Technically a rattle wrench needs an air compressor... but technically a teleporter needs massive amounts of energyAnd how the heck does a Medigun work?
Also, this only applies to pneumatic rattle wrenches. "Impact Wrench" describes the wrench's internal mechanics, not the drive that makes the impacts. There are battery powered impact wrenches
I do like your idea, but here's a few problems:
1) Only turtles place their dispensers close enough to their sentries to "get the point" of the dispenser being an air compressor.
2) As the dispenser is the slowest buildable (60 seconds), making you build one before you get a speed bonus for anything else destroys the whole point of the speed bonus
But here's an idea, building off yours: the rattle wrench has a battery like teh Spah's cloak. You can "run" the rattle wrench for 15 seconds, where you get a 33% bonus to build/repair time. When the battery "runs dry" you get go back to no-bonus (you know, when an electric drill goes dead, and you could turn the screwdriver faster). The battery slowly recharges, or can be topped off at a dispenser/medicine cabinet.
but itd be so annoying if some obnoxious engy kept purposely running up and giving them to people who were doing something, which could result in them dying (i.e. a demo runs into battle and gets handed a beer, not expecting it. Gets killed)The Medigun emits a radioactive heat beam that manifests itself in the light spectrum as crosses when coming into contact with ultraviolent gamma rays from our Sun. The beam encourages rapid cell development to increase oxygen intake, resulting in a temporary boost in muscle tissue and air absorption throughout the body, referred to in the vernacular as "overhealing". If targeting an injured patient, the beam will stimulate the cells' mitochondria, resulting in a rapid repair of damaged tissue.
It is powered by a cold fusion battery using a duranium hydrogen cell with a half-life that can maintain a sustained beam for up to one thousand years. However, in its first model, the Medigun had problems with heat management. The more injury a target has sustained, the faster the gun will heal, and thus the harder it will work. In order to address this problem, the Medic installed a flux capacitor donated to him from a colleague in Hill Valley, California, who had a spare left over from constructing a time machine. The flux capacitor redirects and stores this excess heat into a small generator, which at its maximum heat capacity can be activated to create a matter-reflector around the patient and doctor, which repels any object or force short of gases. This process is called "the Ubercharge".
However, the Medic was rejected from medical school after submitting this to the inquiry of the Munich Medical Journal. The long-term aftereffects of such unnatural cell regeneration was determined to have an extremely close link to the development of very painful and terminal cancers, typically of the stomach and skin.
Despite these shortcomings, the Medigun was considered well within the safety regulations of Builders' League United and Reliable Excavation & Demolition, where the Medic found employment and a very large Russian best friend.
@AutoDMC:
Ah, you have valid points and a great idea with the battery thing. It was just the picture you provide was indeed a pneumatic wrench which mislead me. ;D
Oh and;
Everyone knows that!
